My Crazy Neighbor (the thumbs down lady)

In this thread, I mentioned that my one neighbor is crazy. She was locked up for a while and was let go when she started to take medication. I guess she is off the medication.

Around our house (and the rest of the surrounding areas there were a lot of rabies problems) we trap raccoons to prevent them from getting in the garbage. Lately, our neighbor has been sneaking into our yard and letting the animals out of the traps. It’s not like it’s an easy thing to do, our back yard is heavily populated with trees and small shrubs, not to mention its a rather large yard. She has also removed several stones from a walkway, cut the ropes on the one swingset, and broken several pots in our back yard.

We know that it is not kids, because she has done stuff like this to other people in the area.

Can you get a big enough trap?

It looks as if she has moved our trash cans down into the creek.

You should get one of those webcam thingys. Some of them have motion-detecting abilities, and you could get some videos of it happening. That might help get your “special” neighbor some needed help from the authorities.

Has your neighbor been bitten by the racoons yet? Also, what’s the deal with the garbage cans? I can see wanting to free trapped animals, but garbage cans? That’s an odd neighbor.

For the record, I don’t have a problem with you trapping the critters. I just meant that I can see the motivation of Ms. DownThumb.

Wonko, I don’t know if you read the linked thread, but this is just the tip of the iceberg for the “thumbs-down lady.” (Egads, I’m still laughing about that!)

<sweetness & light>Take the trapped racoons, & release them…inside her house.
She loves them, & will certainly take good care of them.

As for the rabies…well, now they have something in common. :)</sweetness & light>

I did read that linked thread. I love weird neighbor stories!!

I just have to tell you, Mudshark, how profoundly the thumbs-down lady has affected my life. I never considered using the thumbs-down to express displeasure…now I use it for everything. Cubs lost? Thumbs down. Burned the chicken? Thumbs down. Have to stay late at work? Thumbs down. It’s an all purpose gesture! I love it!

Well, things seem to have “settled down”. She still paces her driveway at night and makes occasional comments, but she hasn’t come into our yard lately.

Glad to hear it ** Gundy**, we have done similar things with her spitting noises.

Same here. I’m constantly violently “thumbs-downing” stupid commercials on TV, much to the amusement of my husband.
