I slept through the Ukrainian flight unfortunately.
I traveled to Sao Paolo, Brazil since it went along nicely with one of the daily challenges. Unfortunately I find it a bit less impressive than I expected - not a lot of planes for the various trophies, and a disappointing number of international destinations. So if anyone is working on unlocking S. America, Miami is the far superior choice.
I’ve now unlocked one of the Dallas airports for the week (it works really well for today’s challenge) and it has been fantastic. I got the American Airlines trophy (Astrojet) as well as one of two long-hauler flights from DFW to Australia.
Do you guys usually unlock one airport a week and just hit it hard, or do you unlock multiple airports and bounce around?
Multiple airports: Some of the same ones like NYC, London, and Sydney every week. Others depending on what trophy I’m trying to do and what the daily missions are.
I usually play while listening to an audiobook in the morning while I’m caffenating and at night before bed. This week I’ve been sick so I had a lot of downtime to complete the country trophies. I have 24 airports unlocked right now.
Yeah. I had a few trophies that were close to being finished (Southern Cross, Dragon, and Europe) so I ended up with a scattering of airports for each. I’m also doing Africa now and have 6 airports just for that.
As I said, I’m sick this week and don’t feel like concentrating; SkyCards is a good fit. Normally I might have 6 or so airports spread across timezones depending on what’s busy when I’m playing (hence NYC, London, Sydney).
I got the Ukraine flight the other day, and I never said thank you to whomever posted that… but a HUGE thank you! I’ve been at this game longer than most here, I think, and that was my first Ukraine airport. Now I’m down to Wake Island and Wallis and Futuna.
I thought flights to St. Helena are once a week, and once a month it continued to Ascension and back. I thought I saw the Ascension flight two weeks ago.
The only flight I could find to Wallis and Futuna is once a week from Nadi, Fiji. I can tell you the time and flight number if you like.
Hell yeah, I don’t mind getting a tip. I could DM you my cell number actually, if you were willing. I’m cutting back on my smartphone, but I still keep it close.
I don’t remember having too much trouble with Monaco. I think I did use the trick of waiting for helicopter to land and then catching it between when the destination appears and the flight disappears. You may be right that some events or seasons may increase your chances.
I’m pretty far along on Whaler just because I liked catching those.
I was finally able to get Monaco with a Robinson that flew over the sea (so the ADS-B signal didn’t disappear).
This morning I had a chance to catch my final country, Comoros near Madagascar, but I missed it by minutes. I needed 200 coins to buy a Catch Anywhere and I only got to 175 before it landed.
