My dad's surgery went well today.

A couple of years ago, he had radiation treatments for laryngeal cancer. He’d been fine until the first part of this month, when he went for his regular visit. The next week, he had another biopsy, then an appointment with the ear nose & throat doc, and this week (today) he had surgery.

Things look good. I’m about 600 miles away, so I couldn’t be there, but from the messages I’ve gotten, they took a lot less than they expected to - originally they were going to take about half of his larynx, then check it, and go take more if they needed to. But they didn’t need to - and apparently didn’t even take half, because.

He’s still in the hospital, and last I heard they were waiting for an ICU bed to open up to move him there from the recovery room. But he’s also apparently been awake and alert - just waiting, and wishing he could have his glasses.

So, good news today.

Wonderful! I thought I remembered you posting that today was the day. I’ll keep him in my prayers.
