My Darling Marcie Went Shopping

She went shopping and she bought a new queen sized bed, a dresser to go with it, and an armoire into which one may install a TV. Then she went shopping some more and she bought a new bedspread, comforter, pillows, multi pillow cases and shams, and a flock of sheets. And then, she went shopping again and she bought a new Hyundai Elantra; a red one because she knows I like red cars and she thought it might make up for the pain caused by the loss of our beloved great big, manly Dodge Van that freaking SUVs never tried to bully.

I might spend the rest of my life in a state of shock.

Damn, Marcie sounds way cool. Can I be her friend? I wanna come over and spend both of your money too!

Can we re-do your office next? I’d like to shop for electronics and the perfect office chair. And we must find you the perfect tv for your armoire today too.

Lemme know, I got all day free, I can be there in 2.5 hours.

Actually, the office is on the list but replacing the upstairs carpet comes ahead of the office. We (Marcie) wants to eliminate carpet in favor of wood laminate, but no formal decision has yet been taken. I will certainly pass your offer on to Marcie; she would be glad to have a fellow shopper—I always accompany her, but somewhat reluctantly.

It’s nice that you call her “Darling” after she did all that buying. I don’t think my husband would have the same reaction.

Uhhh…are you guys into adoption?

I always call her “My Darling Marcie.” I buy her roses at least once a month and anything she does is okay with me.
