My Date with the Cute Pyjama Pants Wearing Girl.

You’re just too old. I turn 22 later this year, and the story seems very plausible to me. I doubt you could name a movie with this story. I’m sure the events were much more awkward than they appear from the writing, but as I am closer to Skew’s age than you I am able to understand where he exaggerates and leaves things out to decrease awkwardness and make himself more confident  .

Hell, I’m 62 and I love the story–who needs objectivity when it comes to fantasy?

<hijack> Wow whats the record for most views of a thread? <hijack>

I’m definitely with Tristan. We love your story, want to hear more, and if others don’t want to read it, they can simply not open it.

Please continue, Skewbald.

My thoughts exactly! Keep it going, Skewbald.

Can’t remember the dates… But, for a while I was an editor at Weird Tales(They lost rights to the title and the publication is now Worlds Of Fantasy And Horror).

Out of literally a hundred submissions, one would be worth considering. One submission out of three hundred would be published.

You've got talent. I **strongly** suggest you try getting published. The web makes it much easier to find magazines that are buying and what their guidelines are.

Remember an editor can't reject you. They can only reject your work.

A rejection doesn't mean the editor didn't like your work. It only means that not enough editors liked it. Most manuscripts were disposable. I still have a few that I liked, but the other editors rejected.

I don’t care if it is real, I think it could be. It doesn’t seem all that unbelieveable. People say everything is too perfect, the girl too beautiful, etc. Your first love, what did you think about her? Or him? Hmm?

And if, IF, it is not true, it’s still a fantastic piece of fiction. I’ve had fun reading this entire thread tonight, and real or not, I hope that Skewbald (…right?) comes back to post more. It’s all very intriguing.

Skewbald, I’m with Tristan and zzt all the way. Who cares if it’s completely true? I love hearing your story and hope you continue updating it… no pressure, of course.

Someone else has already said it, but I want to BE this girl. She sounds like an amazing person, and you do too. From the bottom of my heart, I wish the best of luck to you both!

While we’re at it, perhaps since I am closer in age (a bit younger, in fact) to our lustrous author-to-be than anyone else who has mentioned it so far, I am most qualified to judge? Not. Who are we to try and poke holes in Skewbald’s tale? I am content with enjoying these remarkably well-written posts. There is absolutely nothing here to cause me to doubt Skew’s veracity, and I really don’t see the use of pointing out the possibility of minor untruths.

Oh, and Skew? Keep 'em coming.

Skewbald, I am bumping this in the hopes that you will update it. Many of us really enjoyed it, and would love to hear more.

I suspect that you decided to let this thread die because of the debate that developed. If that is the case, I understand. Can’t blame me for trying though.

At this point it seems that the OP does not wish to continue to thread. If Skewbald does wish to continue the story a new thread can always be started with a link to the old thread.
