Ceremony and reception were held at the Facets Theater in Chicago. I am thankful that two trans women can get married now; we were at the “mass wedding” in DC when same sex marriage was legalized there. We got to spend plenty of time with both brides, as well as our son and his long-time girlfriend. We got to see some of the schools where our daughter as worked, including one named after Oscar Mayer. It was fun meeting her group of friends as well. I imagine her younger brother won’t be too far behind; they’re actually more established that the older (by two years) couple.
Congrats to you and the brides.
Finding and holding on to bright spots in the world is a very worthwhile thing, thanks for sharing!
And an additional salute to your existing and new family to taking this step when far too many in power which to silence their voices and choices.
Refusing to bow to threads (spoken and not) is the sort of quiet bravery that gives me any hope of the nation actually recovering.
I raise a glass
to the happy couple!
Congratulations!
I see you waited a day to tell us, so you were not obliged to do any underworld deed we asked of you on the day of your daughter’s wedding ![]()
