11:45 PM Glaze two earthware bowls I am planning on firing tonight.
12:00 AM Start earthenware firing of kiln. Turn kiln dial to “#1
12:15 AM Check email, boards, etc.
1:30 AM Turn up kiln dial to “#2”.
2:30 AM Turn up kiln dial to “Medium”.

I am going to turn up the kiln again.

My life is so exciting.

does the kiln go to 11?

It goes to “high” (which would be after #5 in this kiln model.)

I think they should design a kiln that goes to #11. Then it would be especially hot!

7:08 Post this mundane and pointless stuff.

My day so far:

6:30 Wake up ans stumble to bathroom, feeling sick. Realize I can sleep another hour.
7:30 Alarm goes off. STILL feel sick. Grab flashlight and mirror, look in throat. Wonder how the fuck I can breathe if everything’s that swollen. Decide to go to doctor and not go to work.
7:45 Call boss and leave message about not coming in. Call coworker to tell her where files are that she’ll need to complete testing.
7:50 Realize all the doctor’s offices won’t open until 9. Also realize I haven’t gotten my new insurance card yet.
8:00 Call Beni-Line to find out WTF to do about my card. Find out they’re open 8-6, central time. I’m in Eastern. Hang up and decide to go back to sleep for an hour.
9:00 Wake up again. Call Beni-Line and get # doctor can call to confirm I’m enrolled.
9:05 Hear roomie wandering around apartment muttering shit. Sigh and try to call doctor.
9:15 Finally get a PERSON at the doctor’s office. By a miracle, they have an appointment open for 11:20. Hang up and get online.

It’s now 10:10, and I feel like CRAP. sigh

<gives falcon a throat drop> Sana sana…

To truly appreciate the past few weeks you have to get the whole 24 hours.
5:50am – alarm goes off
6:00-6:30 shower, shave, dress for work
6:30-7:00 rouse 4 year old from sleep – pop in video, get juice / milk, argue over what clothes to wear, also wake up toddler, change diaper, say hello to Ms. Opengrave, and make coffee.
7:00-7:20 make lunch, pour coffee, hugs/kisses goodbye – leave for work.
7:20-8:00 drive to work (car stereo on MAX VOLUME playing IN FLAMES, SLAYER, or OPETH)
8:00am – 5:00pm WORK plus generally do the following:
8:00-8:40 check personal e-mail, both work e-mail systems, read Yahoo news, (on Wednesdays read http://www.theonion.com) and check for news on my stocks.
8:40-sign in to the SDMB and read some threads to which I’ve posted.
9:00 hit the ‘view new posts’ and see what is new.
12:30-12:45 eat lunch – today some SUPER HOT chili.
12:45-2:00 usually a meeting of some sort
2:00-5:00 work really hard

Approx. 11:00pm read my AA Big Book and go to bed.
Now for the fun part….
11:45-12:05 toddler wakes up due to teething pains – give Ibuprofin and take him to Ms. Opengrave who nurses him back to sleep.
12:05 take toddler back to his bed
12:06 – congratulate myself on actually making it through another day without booze and being able to fall asleep without drinking.
1:15 – toddler wakes up due to teething pains, take him to Ms. Opengrave who nurses him back to sleep.
1:25 take toddler back to his bed
2:00-2:30 now it’s the 4 year olds’s turn to wake up – BAD DREAM so lay with her until she is settled
2:45 – toddler wakes up due to teething pains, this time I try rocking him to sleep.
3:20 toddler finally goes back to his bed
4:00 cats fighting in the living room – get up and go separate them – will clean up fur in the morning
4:30 4 year old goes to potty but wants to get in mom and dad’s bed instead of her own because ‘the cars are bothering her’ (we live sort of near a major intersection)
4:45 – toddler wakes up coughing – Ms. Opengrave tries to nurse him back to sleep but no use
5:00 - 4 year old NOW decides her room is quieter so she goes

1:15 get out of class. skip next class to go to lunch.
2:00 check email and boards.
2:25 post this message.

My turn, another mundane day in the life of a procrastinating, post-secondary student:

0630 Hrs: Alarm goes off; hit snooze button
0637 Hrs: Alarm goes off again; woke up; took the burned CD out of the CD tray; checked email
0645 Hrs: Decide what to do next
0650 Hrs: Decided to do the SSS (well,I didn’t do the 1st S)
0715 Hrs: Done showering; rub the exima cream on; brushed
0730 Hrs: Make coffee and had a bowl of cereal
0800 Hrs: Doh, missed bus; diddled around the house for more
0807 Hrs: Head to busstop; boarded cramped bus
0830 Hrs: Arrived to my transfer station; boarded next bus
0915 Hrs: Got to work! (doh, RJK’s gonna read this and report to my boss saying that I’m late!)
1000 Hrs: Shift in this lab done; head to next lab to start shift; found co-working working on her assignment due now
1000-1100 Hrs: Ate my lunch, read “My Messey Bedroom” and “Savage Love” columns, both about getting laid (sucks, haven’t had luck in MONTHS!); helped her out a bit and commented her drawing using JAVA; she huffed and puffed and finished it
1110-1140 Hrs: Read the MPSIMS and writing this column
1140 Hrs+: Should be reviewing for poetry exam tomorrow (ugg, more Robert Frost, Shaspearean sonnets, etc… about how life sucks and everyone else is getting laid and rich!)

Beat that!

Oooh! I love these threads! While my life is so non-existently exciting, I do have a great little anecdote to share. Allow me?

Well, I’m driving to work, the same ole route. On the route is a light that always backs up a little, maybe about a block. The backed cars usually back up underneath a railroad track bridge viaduct thingy. I’m one of the aforementioned cars this morning. Also note that the road narrows under this bridge.

So I’m sitting there, quietly listening to Bob & Tom. All of a sudden, a minivan roars up behind me, squeezes in between me and the rail (luckily I was very close to the yellow line), and s/he proceeds to shove the cars out of the way ahead of me, with plastic and molding flying off all over the place.

The driver sped away as the car ahead of me (which got creamed fairly good) pulled behind him and chased him down. I’m not sure if they got him, the license plate number, or what, but for a while it sure was funny. I kept wondering why someone would be so eager to get to work.
