My Dinner with Phil....

(Phil - Satan made me do it. Honest.)

Anyway, went and had dinner with the lovely Mr. PLD and his wife Peta Tzunami last night. And DAMN, it was funny. Meal was wonderful. (and LeighAnne? Can I have that recipe?)

Well, after dinner was when the amusement began. This may have ALSO been caused by the fact that this was when we had finished the bottle of wine. (And a White Russian for me) I got to listen to (and have a copy of!) some of Phil’s bands, PLUS a rare concert video! And Phil looked so CUTE…and has a DAMN sexy singing voice. (And yes, Peta agrees with me on this.) Somehow, we decided to watch the South Park movie, which I discovered is even FUNNIER if you’re drunk! (We’d moved from wine to mixed drinks…Falcon discovered that vanilla vodka is rather tasty.)

After the movie, Phil and I decided to do tequila shots. A carryover from the last DC gathering, where no one would do shots with us, dammit. Hadn’t done shots in a while, but I managed to keep up with him QUITE nicely, thank you very much. And then we were plenty happy. (Yes, Falcon is a happy drunk.)

Peta then brought out the photo albums. To those who saw the Bill photo albums when we helped them move, you ain’t seen NOTHING yet. Peta saves everything. And it was so cuuuuuuute. Also discovered Phil looked like a member of Duran Duran while he was in high school. And was BLONDE! Go figure!

And then we got into chat. I will let others say how stupid we looked, but I do remember Phil trying to suggest we were having a threesome. I also recall no one was buying it. After sobering up a bit, I drove home.

And oh, Satan? Phil can now testify you’re not the ONLY one I smack around.

Glad you had a good time, Falcon! At least, what you remember of it, anyway.

Sure! As a matter of fact, its on my website so I’ll share with all. You had the Sweet & Tangy Butter Beans. Its not an original recipe so I don’t feel like I’m being immodest if I say its great–everyone (even non-vegetarians) should try it. I’ve made it for potluck type events and everyone raves. The same with the rice salad listed there.

After dinner, I’ll admit we got a little show-and-telly with pictures and stuff we thought Falcon would enjoy. And, Phil’s voice is very sexy…I heard it on day two of our first day (which was three days long for the record; and it was love from the start!) when he played a rough demo tape, and I loved his voice then too. If I can get PLD’s permission (yeah right?!), I’ll share his adorable high school senior picture to which Falcon referred.

Being the designated wuss, I stayed out of the whole tequila shots debacle, but will say both Falcon and Phil are happy (though LOUD) drunks. We had a sing along, and I had to keep reminding them of the neighbors (yes, I said sing along:)).

We never did get to either the Monty Python nor the MST3K vidoes. <shrug> Oh well…it was still a blast, and you’re welcome anytime, babe!

Now that we’ve got bookcases (& DCNewsman, I’ve actually catagorized and shelved ALL our books!) and a dining table (limited chairs still, but we’re working on it), we’ll have to get started planning the house-warming party.

Peta, what do you do? I’m doing a short-term gig as a recruiter for a consulting firm in D.C., have worked in town for 5-6 years. Email me - maybe I can help you. You can cook me dinner or something.
