I gave him his last “OK” “[you can] GO” command yesterday. Born May 12 2006.
My condolences on your loss.
I’m truly sorry, Leo.
I’m so sorry, Leo. We lost our girl a little over a month ago and are still crying every day. But I know one day, there will be another dog. I wish you the best luck in dealing with your loss.
Awe. That sucks. I got a soft spot for dogs of the Dope.
I’m sorry, Leo.
We’re about to lose our beloved cat due to similar circumstances. She’s a beautiful siamese and was my wife’s (before we met) and so became mine as well soon thereafter. Never expected I’d become so attached to an animal. Dreading the inevitable.
So sorry Leo. My condolences.
Have you read Kipling’s "The Power of the Dog’? It really speaks to the fact we know their lives are short. http://www.poetryloverspage.com/poets/kipling/power_of_dog.htm
Leo, I am so sorry at the loss of your beloved pet. I get tears when I read these threads because I imagine the loss of my own dog. When I die I really hope we meet our pets again, as well as our humans. I think it was Martin Luther who said it wouldn’t seem like Heaven without dogs.
I am so, so sorry. I have a dog named Buddy, too. He’s 14. I dread the day…
I’m sorry. Losing a dog is the worst.
I am so sorry. I’ve gone through 9 dogs and the drive home from the vet’s with only an empty collar in the passenger seat never gets easier. Sometimes I feel quite disconnected from my little rescue mutt, not sure why, but I know I’ll look for him in the house for quite a while after he’s gone. He’s 13 now and I can see signs of aging. He’s definitely slowed down in the 3 years I’ve had him.
I laughed until tears came to my eyes, then I cried tears in the usual way when I viewed that.
Right back at ya with the Kipling poem, Baker (not as much laughing, though).
I’m so very sorry, Leo.
