My Face is Green

Last week I administered a “home facial chemical peel” using products that are normally used in an office setting. And yes, it BURNS like a thousand suns. And I had to use four layers 'cuz my sun-damaged skin was pretty tough.

The process worked as it should, and within 2 days I noticed that indeed my face was peeling. Just not, say, evenly.

This morning I thought I’d try a hydrating masque maybe to loosen the dead patches of skin. It was avocado based.

I now have green patches of dead skin all over my face which I can’t wash away. Thank God the hub stayed home from work so he could take the kid to pre-school. I can just imagine how self-depracating I would have had to be!

Just an absolute MMP I thought I’d share. :wally

So – you’re like that until the dead skin comes away, RSSchen? Poor you! I won’t ask for pictures.

An avocado based masque. Suuuuuure. I know the real story … you’re a zombie!!! Aii!!! Everybody run!!!

My friend had an “office job” done and she was positively patchy for like 10 days. I hope your green face fades to normal soon!

C’mon. Tell the truth. You tried out for Sister Of Son Of The Mask, and the mojo wouldn’t let go of you. Now you’re sssssmmmmmokin’ !

Let that be a lesson to you.

I’ve been there…not green, but bright red and it took *days * for the dead skin to flake off.
Good thing I had those sick days saved up.

One time in college, my friend wanted to dye her hair blue. I did the actual dyeing for her, stupidly without the benefit of gloves. I had solid blue hands for two weeks!

At the time I was teaching afterschool science programs to elementary kids, so when they asked what happened to my hands (and they ALL asked!), I told them they should always, always wear proper safety equipment when conducting science experiments.

Sorry about the green face. I’m sure it’ll wear off pretty quickly.

I’ve looked on the interweb, but am still mystified and appalled. What did you find at the office that you are putting on your face that burns?

If I ever feel the need to do anything like that, I think I’ll save time, pain, and expense and just scrub with some Fast Orange.

She means it’s the stuff that would normally be used in a dermatologist’s office to do a chemical peel. Not desk cleaner or copier toner or anything.

Ooooooooooh! :smack: Well that’s a relief. After whiteboard erasing fluid, there’s not much before you’ve got to hit the battery electrolyte from the UPSs.
(I’d still prefer the Fast Orange)

Nonsense, they’d have been green with envy.

Mmmm… patches of greeen dead skin… Do you have any fancy dress parties coming up? You could attend as a zombie with minimal effort.

I hope for your sake the green pigment doesn’t heal into the skin. It can happen. I suppose you could addition for a role as a Martian in that case.

Still here today, though not as bad. I, too, HOPE that it doesn’t heal into the skin!

It’s not easy being green!
