Frankly, I’m sick of conciliatory suck-ups like Diogenes.
If Bush isn’t the worse thing to happen to Western Civilization, does it logically follow that debt and war are good for America?
Get in line, Shodan. I loathe his politics, but I have to confess that I have a schoolboy crush on Brutus.
It doesn’t really matter what he does, human civilisation can’t be ended in 8 years you small minded twerp.
I’m as anti-Bush as they come but you really are on a side by yourself, gibbering on the street corner.
End of civilisation? Give me a break, and wipe your mouth.
Full-scale nuclear war.
Not to say Bush will start a full-scale nuclear war. Just that that’s something that could end human civilization in eight years or less.
Yeah right.
Ever study history and find out the advantages to not only the US, but the rest of the world due to WWII? Especially Japan? Or are you in the Nintendo (heh) generation and only see things from a micro world?
You don’t think two hundred nuclear devices detonating simultaneously in the world’s largest urban centers would bring an end to civilization as we know it, if not our entire species?
Oh, pray tell, which country lauched them?
Such as it is, there’s a small chance that Kerry may win Ohio. There is a difference of 136221 votes (per both Fox AND CNN numbers) Even if there were 140,000 Provisiona/absentee Votes, it would be statistically inevitable that Kerry could prevail, since they would pretty much all have to be for Kerry, which, IMO is unlikely.
Americans have spoken, and in record numbers to boot, those numbers mean that whatever values the President holds, so then does (at least half) of the country. It was close, despite their best efforts, the Democrats couldn’t get it done. A well fought battle, to be sure, but it’s all but over.
I hope that we don’t drag this out past where it should be, that’s just bad for the country. It was bad when Bush’s team ganked the election in 2000, (go ahead and deny it, you know they did, even I believe Gore should have won, and I hated his wooden ass) and it would be resoundingly bad for Kerry to do the same thing this year.
I just hope that the Dems and the Pubbies can let it go once it’s gone, and work on making a better America, rather than slogging through the election mire for four years.
(though fwiw, I’m glad voters showed Daschle the door, i really didn’t like that fellow at all)
I think the world is a lot bigger than 200 cities.
Hypothetical situation.
Are you serious? Clearly not. You can’t get 200 documents faxed simultaneously to the worlds largest urban centers, what makes you think simultaneous nuclear detonation is even REMOTELY possible? Much less getting a nuclear device delivered to each one of those urban centers. That’s a pipe dream, on top of an enigma, smothered in stupid.
Check the thread title before giving hypotheticals.
snoopy dance
BUSH WON!!!
If you’re going to dance on my face, could you maybe not wear cleats? Since so many Dems are are upset, I can’t blame you for gloating, but I wish you wouldn’t be quite so happy about the destruction of civil liberties soon to take place.
I fully expect Lawrence to be reverrsed after Bush’s appointees to the SC are approved and a wave of anti-gay hatred and violence to ensue.
I hope so, I really, really hope so.
—Eve (in NYC, right across the street from a major terrorist target)
Yeah, I’m looking out my office window at the NYSE.
Doubt if he’ll do that - we have no natural resources that he can rape and pillage.
Eve, World Eater, you’re in a blue state, Bush doesn’t care if there’s a terrorist attack on NYC. In fact, he’d secretly welcome it to use as political capital . 9/11 was a godsend for Dubya.
I just wanted to quote this in it’s entirety, for the benefit of those who have Brutus on thier ignore lists.
Great fucking post, man. Just about perfectly sums it up.
