Unfortunately, sometimes they’re just incompetent. My mom’s positive cancer results were found by her doctor several months after a biopsy (she hadn’t worried since they’d told her they’d only call for a positive result). Fortunately it wasn’t a very aggressive cancer so she was able to be cured anyway.
Apparently they forgot to tell me that patients need to come in and hear their biopsy results firsthand, regardless of what they are. :dubious: If I’d known I would have gone in yesterday - I thought they’d just call me with the results. (They texted me the results for my HPV test.)
I scheduled an appointment for tomorrow afternoon.
Sending some more calming positive vibes. It’ll be ok!
Did you try telling them that hundreds of people around the world are awaiting these results?
Hello HazelnutCoffee, I’m fervently wishing you the very best from down here in the Antipodes. Sounds like the odds are well on your side and do keep us posted tomorrow.
whistles hopefully & bumps the thread
Best wishes to HazelNutCoffee.
Just saw this, Haze - may your lump be as serious as the one I had at the same age!
Late seeing this as usual, but adding my hope for good news!
<<<<benign vibes>>>>
So… any results yet? Best of luck!!!
I hope those nurses were good to you, Hazel! And I hope the results are negative.
Hazelnut, I’m not sure if you feel self conscious or are just busy but you’re among friends and we really Do care.
If you need something to laugh at to take your mind off it, I’ll share something. When I had mine sliced, it was an ‘8’. Well, it funny how scars take shapes as if they have a mind of their own. I don’t have an ‘8’ anymore; now I have heart-shaped cigar burn.
Now let me ask you 2 things: First, what guy would ever want to go through life with a ‘heart’ branded onto his thigh? (Hey, is that a smile? Stop that. You know smiling is forbidden. )
And second, if I can fess up to that to Og & Sundry across a message board read globally in a thread that could be resurected Zombie style anytime over the next 50 years, any chance you might come back & just say ‘hey’? You can talk about anything or nothing, its all good. (we really are here for you)
Best of luck to you, HazelNutCoffee.
Rooting for you here in Montreal, HazelNutCoffee. When something similar happened to me year before last, a friend said: “Don’t worry, boobs are full o’ weird lumpy things. That’s why we call them boobs”
Hope things go well for you.
The results came back negative! :: throws confetti into the air ::
The doctor said that I should come back in for a checkup in 6 months, just to keep an eye on things, but he said that I shouldn’t worry about it anymore.
Thank you everyone, for your encouraging words and stories. My right boob is also grateful for the support.
Hoooooray!!!
::strews further confetti through the thread::
Woo hoo! Dang, that must have been super stressful. What a relief. Time to par-tee!
<Doing Happy Happy Joy Joy Dance>
YAAAAAYYYYYY! Silly boobs and all their unexplained lumps.
Hoooray! I’m glad to hear it.
And I’ll always be there, for either one of your boobs, I promise.
