How far is NH from here? Can you figure it out?
Ok, never mind. Looking at a map, you are kind of east of Rutland. Still, if you were to get down to Albany some how, I’d love to go in a rental car - I’d split the costs, 50/50. Then we could go together from there.
What do you think? You have to come into NY anyway.
I am the boredest bored person ever. I have no work to do. I have no “Hey, this will kill some time” not-really-work to do. I’m so bored I can’t even quite be bothered to look busy. It’s a sad, sad state of affairs.
Where’s my mom? She usually emails me every day, and I respond. But no email yesterday and none today (and she knows I leave work around noon on Fridays so usually emails me before then on Fri).
Lissla, take brownies to the BBQ. Or any other sort of decadent baked good. Sweet, sticky, yummy things always go over big at parties.
You all are so kind. thanks for the ego boost, so soon after nearing death by another year and all…
I will try to post past and current pics o’ me–but I sorta jumped the shark here, no?
Next week will be insanely busy week. But I do want to peek in here and see everyone (Taters and Twinks --this means YOU).
I am sorry that Drae is so bored–I have been that bored at work and it ain’t pretty.
I am back from Sam’s and all in one piece. I don’t think I can go there anymore–they have PLs (professional lurkers) who [del]perch[/del] at the end of aisles and grab you as you go past. This was bed when it was the FPLs (food professional lurkers), but now it is outdoor pavillon tents, wide screen TVs–I am breathlessly awaiting the toilet paper PL…skeery.
I saw Travis and Donna and Mike there as well–as well as their minority counterparts: Jose, Maria and Jesus, and Tyrone, Lawanda and Antwan. I saw Preston, Daphne and Blake as well (but they looked furtive and slightly embarassed to be seen there-heh).
I want supplies and food delivered to my door by a big, strapping hunk of a man…hmmm-back later.
I have been really working hard this morning. I know it’s not morning anymore. Bear with me. Anyway I really cracked down and got a LOT of work done. And two conference calls. I hate boys.
Note: that don’t mean I hate men. Men and boys are two different things.
You’re a genius. All I have to do now is decide the best way to get to Albany (and back afterwards): namely, whether I want to spend 5 to 7 hours on a bus each way (a $110 round trip), or rent a car and drive it.
And I’ll need to bring my sword and get a scabbard and get it peace-tied before we go. Hm.
Whenever I have that urge I just tell ACBG to stop at the store on his way over. Rigs you are indeed loverly. I’m gay, so if I say it it’s especially true cause we’re supposed to be able to notice stuff like that.
Hey Rue! I forgot to say howdy earlier. Happy Bastille Day to you too. I would go find a prison to storm but it’s too dang hot so instead, I’ll get in the pool when I go home today. I’d eat a croissant but I just had some Eyetalian food for lunch and I’m full.
My blazer is all loaded down with the stuff that was sittin’ in the lobby just outside my office. That’s a bunch o’ stuff let me tells ya!
I just called my auntie and that helped with some of the homesickness, too. We were talking and laughing about the experiences in India. From Colorado, where she lives, it’s a 30 hour trip with a stop only in NYC and Europe, from where I live it’s like a 20-hour trip. Then you get out and all you want to do is get home but it’s like 98 degrees even at 4 AM (for real - when I went in July) and you have to get through customs, then you get outside and about a million taxi drivers come running up “Sister! Sister! Come to my cab! Super-cheap! Here, let me take your stuff!” And they practically disappear your stuff and run to the cab.
Drae, congrats on your Cool Kid anniversary! <flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon>
I just finished finishing up the 10 pieces I threw last week. Some just needed their bases trimmed. Some I decorated - I used drills of different sizes to make patterns with holes in a couple of them, and I used some of my nifty clay tools to make cutouts. They’re all sitting on the shelf to dry. Maybe on Sunday I’ll throw some more pots. I’d like to have enough to do the craft show in Sept. I should probably call about that show and see if I can get in.
FCD came home early, too. He said when he drove into our neighborhood, there were a bunch of sheriff’s cars and a helo circling and some guys in a field across the street from our neighborhood. Dunno what was going on, but I’ll be checking the local message board to see if anyone said anything.
So the big question now is: What’s for dinner? It might be a pizza night. Ya think?
Incidentally, my one and only child is zipping through Oregon now - she’s probably about 75 or so miles from Portland about now. They expect to hit Seattle about 6PM this evening. They still haven’t decided how long they’re staying.
