Howdy, FCKid! :enthusiastic waving:
FCM – my mother is in Seattle right now. Wouldn’t it be awesome if they ate dinner in the same restaurant, or something? And here the two of us sit, way over here on the other side of the country.
Bastille Day, speaking of my mother, is her birthday! My dad, along about the 10th of July, used to say to me, “Ellen Bastille Day’s coming up,” which was my signal to help him choose a birthday gift for her. Dad, the history major, always throwing in historical allusions in everyday life. (And I sure do miss them.)
Brownie Pie – I was runimating over the recipe, which I’ve never made. Those were the instructions given to me over the phone by my sister-in-law, who did make it. However, I think an entire can of crushed pineapple is way too much for one measly block of cream cheese. So, use your judgment.
I’m on my way home to the final puker of the Great Puking Summer of '06 (or whatever I called it the other day). I hope he’s better. A sick husband is not a pretty sight. At least the baby only had it one day.
Happy weekend, everyone!
Good grief! Your daughter is already out here on the West Coast! I’ll wave to her as she drives by on her way to Seattle. Once she’s in Seattle, she’ll only be about 30 miles north of me. I hope she enjoys it there. The weather is supposed to be nice this weekend too!
Spats, we have one for southern Md, but as message boards go, it’s pretty sucky most of the time. Not only do most threads devolve into flirt-a-thons, but they’re quick to attack any and all newbies for the slightest little thing. I’ve found it marginally useful to search for recommendations of specific businesses or services, but mostly, it’s nothing but inside jokes, racism, intolerance, and assholery. I’m embarrassed that I joined it way back when.
Sounds good. Have some for me while you’re at it. (It’s still on the forbidden list for me.)
Thought of you earlier today - A craigslister up in Napa was giving away a kiln that their former tenants left behind. I’m assuming this was more of the “knob that goes from OFF to HOT” variety, rather than your computerized type.
Really! All we have is a monthly neighborhood newsletter, and neighbor to neighbor gossip that only seems to have a three-house radius.
If your community has its own website, chances are they also have a board. More and more communities are doing that now
I just saw a bumper sticker that I just had to share with you:
Caution:
Driver just doesn’t
give a shit anymore.
:dubious: nice.
<snerk> in bed! <snerk>
Wow, you guys move fast! Today was marginally busy for a change. I’m chipper today: it’s Friday, it’s payday and I only have 9 more weeks to go at my job.
I got up early, went to the bank, indulged in a FULL tank of gas, only $3.03 at Costco and it’s $3.22 by my house, so I got a good deal. Still, $37 to fill up a Sunfire? Picked up my free bagels at Panera; nobody’s here to eat 'em, so I’m taking the leftovers home. Hit up the local yarn shop on the last day of the big sale and managed to stop at $100. I have a ton of gifts to make before Labor Day. I thought I had until Christmas, but nope. I will inflict pictures on you as they are completed.
I’m almost finished with my pink/purple/teal/apple green wool/silk wrap. It’s beeeaauuuutiful. I’ll take pics when it’s done.
Pffft on the gas thing. It cost me $62.00 to fill up my rig on Monday. That was at $2.93 a gallon (six cent discount from Safeway). Yeeeee-OWCH!! That’s what I get for driving a gas hog, but I need it to pull the boat and haul all of us when we’re pulling the boat.
I cannot believe it’s ONLY 2:30 here. KEE-rist this day is dragging ass. I don’t know what we’re having for dinner. Frankly, I don’t even care. I don’t feel like dealing with it. Unfortunately, I know the hubby and kids want and expect dinner, so I’ll have to get something.
Hey, can you send some of that dirt cheap gas down this way? $3.15 at the local no-octane emporium, right now.
Weeeelllll, I would if I could. You see, those were Monday’s prices. I’m sure that with all the new crap going on in the Mid East our prices are probably going to be sitting at right around $3.15 by tomorrow.
Ugh, I just want to go hooooome ! Why can’t I go home, dammit?!
Hubby is already home. He called me at 1:30 to tell me he was on his way home. The rotten bastard; rubbing it in my face that way!
I just knew that would excite ya! And yep, if we ever meet, that’s a promise.
Drae congrats on your one year anniversary. I just sorta wandered in here right after I started posting, so I guess I’m comin’ up on a five year anniversary though I ain’t exactly sure when that would be. I could go back and see the very first time I posted to a MMP but I won’t cause I’m lazy.
FCM if TPC[sup]TM[/sup] likes salmon, she absolutely must have some salmon hash for breakfast while she’s in Seattle. OOH! And some dungeness (is that right?) crab. Or some salmon stuffed with the crab. Dang! Now I want salmon hash. And dungeness (sp?) crab. I ate like a pig while in Seattle last year. OOH! How long is she going to be there? She should do the tour of underground Seattlel. It’s a hoot! Ain’t it Taters? OOH! And go to the market and watch 'em throw the fish! The Space Needle is kinda boring but it’s one of those things ya gotta say you saw in Seattle. Course I got me a gen-yoo-wine original picu painting and there will never be anything cooler or jaker than that from Seattle.
The Underground Tour was most definitely jakily-jake! Also, if TPC gets a chance, she should go to Snoqualmie Falls. It’s very pretty there.
**Rigs, ** you’re a purty lady. I love your hair.
I have failed to go to Ren Fests/Faires several years in a row. One year I got sick, another year I had a fight with the people I was supposed to go with, and another year I just decided not to go 'cause I figured I was jinxed. But as Og is my witness, one year, I will go. Hmm. I need a dress. The year I got sick, the friend I was supposed to go with loaned me one of her gowns. I had to be laced into it. I wish we’d taken pictures–my bosom has never looked quite so bodacious, before or since.
My kid will be there for at least 3 days, maybe a week - they haven’t decided yet. I’ll mention your suggestions to her, but I’m assuming the cousin they’re visiting will have some stuff lined up for them.
Oh, and she just tolerates salmon - stupid kid. I’ll suggest she try it anyway.
In case you were wondering, FCD took me to Arizona Pizza for dinner. I had the veggie calzone, without peppers. It was filling. I am stuffed. And now I’m going to do my arm-stretching exercises. Back later with jello-arms!
FCM, I know that’s the technical word for what you do on that wheel, but I giggle every time you mention throwing things. I picture you in the basement, tossing hunks of clay against the wall!
Hey, where’s Jeffrice (or whatever his new name is gonna be) with them brownies?
I didn’t get in line, because it got a BIT unruly in the line. But I’m not above scavenging when it comes to brownies.
Weather lady is saying we might get triple-digits here by Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.
I’m a hotter the better kind of guy.
And Monday, I have a golf outing to play in. So, yeah I know the drill - lots and lots of water and watch my alcohol consumption. I’ll keep an eye on every single drop, I will!
Kid is on her way home from Mall-Land, she’s making her signature sloppy joes for dinner. The recipe is from some kid’s cookbook we got her when she was about 8, and they’re pretty good, so that’s a big YUM.
Now that you’ve discovered the secret…
Hey!
My bosom is plenty bodacious without that.
It was just more so with.
