My furniture is making me cry.

A few months ago my Aunty Alice was put into a nursing home and she asked the family to go through her things and take what they wanted.

Because of this, my room is absolutely packed with things that were hers. No matter where I look, I can’t help but think of her and see her smile…

But today it’s making me cry…

My Aunty Alice died last night.

I hope her death was peaceful. My sympathy to you. And how nice that you have some special things to remember her by.

I’m so sorry. One day seeing her things will bring you comfort, even if it’s making you sad right now. Believe that.

In the words I posted for a dear friend who passed away last year from AOL:

It’s the most powerful statement that has ever come from my heart. I hope you can look at that and gain some strength through your difficult time.

I’m so sorry that you’re beloved aunt died, mega, but as the others have said, the furniture will last a very long time, and it’s meaning will continue to grow. After awhile, every time you polish, or clean that same furniture, and talk about what each piece means to someone else, your own memories become more cherished.

I haven’t anything to add, really, save for hugs and good thoughts.

– Indian Proverb

If your Aunt Alice was anything like you are, the world has lost one of its treasures.

I’m sorry, hon. Be happy that you got to know her, and glad that you spent the time with her that you did.

I’m sorry, mega. To your credit, I have to say that even when posting THIS sort of thing, you were original in each and every way.

Hang in there sweetie.

I’m sorry to hear that. :frowning:

I’m sorry for your loss, mega. God rest your aunt’s dear soul.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, Mega. My house is filled with furniture that belonged to my great-grandmother and when she died, seeing it made me think of her and cry. Now, though, I’m back to the happy memories. You will be too, someday. You and your family will be in my thoughts tonight.

I know that she is a in a better place… a place where she can be appreciated for what and who she is.

I’ve never known anybody else with a heart like hers, and I don’t suspect I ever will, again.
Thanks everyone…

Your aunty will always know that you appreciate her, mega.
