My girlfriend's birthday is next Tuesday, and Christmas is her favorite holiday...

I hate celebrating holidays altogether.

I love her.

It doesn’t help that a year ago Christmas Eve her very close grandmother died- and she had been unable to see her for the previous 7 years.

I need help.

I am extremely low on money, and time, but extremely creative. I expect to pull something out of my hat and make it work… BUT.

She has already expressed vociferous displeasure that I have not been hint-dropping on items for her…

And she is going off the pill, so her cramps are killing her and etc and such.

WTF is suggested? I have a great idea that she has approved months ago for a Xmas gift, but with literally tens of dollars to my name before her birthday, what should I do?

BTW, I am normally flush, comparatively, but we just dropped a combined 6k into moving into a new home. She, however, still has plenty of backup. I do not. And the CC’s are full.

I will be debt free in Jan, but that is (obviously) too late. What to do?

Thanks in advance!

Well… I just thought of something you could give her that wouldn’t cost you a dime… at least not before her birthday.

That’s for next year!
Don’t go rushing the agenda…

Well, WTF is this great idea?

Ok, here is what I suggest. Since you give us no hints, whatsoever, do this. Budget exactly how much you can spend for the girl. Split it 60/40.

With the 60, buy her something nice for her birthday.

With the 40, split it as small as you can and buy her a whole bunch of things for Christmas. Wrap each one individually. Even if it is a fucking box of candy. That way she has lots of things to open on Christmas.

Birthday is about the gift you give to her. Christmas? About the event itself, and it’s just as much fun to have a lot of things to open.

Does that help?
