My God, you MUST see Lilo & Stitch!

Another gaping plot hole - how can they “fire” a convicted criminal? Was the punishment that they would leave him stranded on Earth instead of putting him back in prison?

Esprix

Most likely. Less cost for housing and upkeep. Strange to that they would abandon the environmentalist/comic sidekick along with him.
I still find it weird that the shelter would put a “dead” animal in with the live animals. [“We thought it/he was dead!”] Although I did like the look of terror on the other dogs.

I loved it!!!

The part that made me cry was

When Stitch took the Ugly Duckling book out to the woods, and then said “I’m lost” and started looking around for his family to show up. choke sniff sob

Stitch, from what I have seen in the previews, looks a lot like my dog, if my dog was blue. .

same big mouth, same big ears.
and you say Stitch is always getting in trouble?
uhuh.

just like my dog.

Did anyone else notice that Nani had a Mulan poster in her room? I thought that was cool.

Overall, I think this movie is way up there with Emperor’s new Groove as the funnest Disney movie ever.

They also passed by a “Mulan Wok” restaurant at one point.

Note the bottle with the Mickey Mouse face on the laundry room shelf?
And the Dumbo doll sitting on the easel?

Opal, the exact same scene is the one that got me close to tears. And I’m a young-adult male…I had to put up a wall of macho in order to keep anyone else from noticing.

Went to see it again last night - and it’s funnier the second time!

“Pudge controls the weather!”

“Leave me alone to die…”

“Do you know what tuna’s made of? Fish! If I gave Pudge tuna, I’d be an abomination!

“Thus far you have been adrift in the safe harbor of my patience…”

“CIA, Roswell, 1974.”
“Ah, yes - you had hair then…”

“So you’re from outer space? I hear the waves are choice…”

“This is my family. I found it. It is small, and broken, but still good. Yup - still good…”

“Wow - San Francisco…”
“RAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! {stomp stomp stomp}”

Esprix

This line nearly brought me to tears. This is far and away my favorite animated Disney film since The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

What an expressive face Stitch has! “Waiting… for… my family…” :frowning:

Just REMEMBERING certain scenes makes me want to cry!!

OK, I’m totally convinced. Valkyrie and I are gonna have to go see this movie. I’d been hooked by the trailers before, especially since I saw a Boston Terrier in the group of terrified dogs (BTW - I love that pic of Dongy, BNB!) and this thread has cemented the deal for me. Us’ll head to the theaters this weekend to check it out.

Am I misremembering or does Hawaii have one only license plate for the entire state: A113?

  • the Firetruck
  • the tanker truck
  • the license plate in her bedroom (partially hidden by a stack of blocks and toys)

Lilo: It’s good living on an island without any major cities…
Stitch: small seizure

“You’re helping him?”
“He’s very persuasive.”

Ok, here is where it gets scary (scary that I know this crap):

The number A113 has significance (as I’m sure you have guessed) and you have probably seen it in many other animated works.

A113 is the room number for the animation department at the California Institute of the Arts. A school founded by Walt Disney and the alma mater of many people in animation (the school existed before that, but Walt bought it and repurposed it into its existing form).

In addition to that, it was also the number of one of the major conference rooms at the original Pixar campus (don’t know if it is at their new campus), so for Pixar animators it has a double significance.

You can see this number in Toy Story, The Brave Little Toaster, the Family Dog episode of Amazing Stories, several episodes of The Simpsons, A Bug’s Life.

My favorite line of the movie: “Oh good, my dog found the chainsaw” :)

Bubbles is quite obviously a former MiB, which explains his involvement in the final scene in the movie.

My wife has just completely fallen for this movie (combination of Disney and homesickness for Hawaii, I think). She has a couple Stitch dolls now. I’m using them to recreate key moments from the movie.

Here is my first attempt:

Stitch and San Francisco
