My Google Home Page Is Loading Very Slowly

I’m on Vista 4GB 3.10, 64 bit processing with 70% space. Only 1 window is open. Is this peculiar to google?

Thanks

Are you using iGoogle? I use iGoogle and sometimes one of the modules I have set on it doesn’t come up just right due to the site it is pulling the info from being down. In the end it slows down the loading of the iGoogle page.

Just a thought.

All pages related to Google are slow this morning for me (Washington, DC): gmail, google news, etc. Very odd.

Yep. I can’t get google home page to load before it times out.

I looked at a very similar problem last night: the problem was not the web page but that the user had just switched the machine on and there were applications still starting in the background. In his case it was McAfee. If he waited a bit the web page would come straight up.

Further, McAfee was trying to check for updates, which slowed internet access even more.

Several people at my office, including me, have had this same problem today with anything Google-related. Non-Google sites have been fine, and have had no problem with speed.

I’m getting lots of Google timeouts. This includes YouTube and GTalk. Pinging their server from the command line I’m getting 75% packet loss. All other websites are doing just fine.

I think they’re having problems today.

And so saying, now they’re back up to running normal.

I’ve seen it too though.
Google seems to be having problems today.

Yes, I am on igoogle, but like the others, things are now back to normal.

Thank you!

Quasi

Strangely, earlier today, my Windows PC was unable to access Google, but on a Mac, it zipped right along like normal.

Whatever the problem was, I have no idea.

I suppose it has to with the number of modules you have packed onto the page?

The number of bookmarks?

I don’t know, but I have the fastest DSL AT&T offers, and my igoogle is the slowest to load wherever I choose to go.
