My Grey Poupon smells very eggy.

It’s their Dijon mustard. Right after the bottle was opened, unmixed, there was a sulfurous eggy smell and taste. It’s not overpowering, but it’s noticeable. Eggs aren’t listed in the ingredients:
Water
Vinegar
Mustard Seed
Salt
White Wine
Fruit Pectin
Citric Acid
Tartaric Acid
Sugar
Spice
Now that I looked I see that it says to shake before using. I’ve never done this and this is the first time I’ve smelled it this strong.

What the dillyo?

Like eggs, mustard contains sulphur compounds which, when hydrolyzed, produce Hydrogen sulphide; the smell of overcooked eggs. The sulphur containing chemicals are to a large part responsible for the flavor of mustard. All about mustard.
