Good luck. Save as many as you can…and if you need anyone to adopt something, keep me in mind!
Yes, but human beings are perfectly capable of caring for themselves. Anyone who saves animals is a friend of mine.
Godspeed your husband.
Mama Tiger,
You might pass this info along to your doctor and her family. Some of the pets that were rescued from the New Orleans area have been taken to the shelter operated by The Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana.
Bless the beasts and the children, for in this world they have no voice.
I’ve donated to Noah’s Wish I can only hope they are doing the same kind of good work.
Hey, pinkfreud your husband sounds like a good man. I wouldn’t be able to do such a courageous act. I’m too much of a coward to do such a good deed while risking injury to himself. So, he definetly has my props.
Why are you wasting your time posting on an internet message board when you could be helping humans in need? Don’t you care?
pinkfreud, your husband is alright by me. It is a wonderful and generous thing he is doing and I shall keep him and the workers in my thoughts daily.
I already donated to Noah’s Wish.
For those humans that stayed behind, it was their choice either because of their economic status, health or plain stubborness. The pets had no choice. If I had to leave my dog behind in a tragic circumstance to make room for the life of my child, it would be the right decision, but it wouldn’t mean I wouldn’t be haunted for the rest of my life. My dog is a member of my family. I can see the look of abandonment when I just leave to take the kids to school. I cannot fathom the guilt and pain I would feel if I was looking at her throught the back window of my truck as we drive away and she is on the side of the road. and I would leave objects behind before I’d leave my dog. The fish, well, they are on their own.
If you care to post Mr. Freud’s organization for donation info, I know with next pay I would be happy to help out in some small way. I know you didn’t start this to get $, but in times like this, every penny is needed.
He’s doing a great thing.
pinkfreud, this is such a wonderful and good thing y’all are doing. Thank you so much. E-mail me if I can be of assistance, please.
They are, I have a friend packing now to go down and help.
And a big **Best Wishes ** to Mr. Pink, knowing all my animal would thank him for what he is doing.
Pinkfreud, you and your husband are both great.
If he brings any ferrets back, give them a raisin from the Otter Marauders.
You’ve inspired me, and I’ll contact my local shelter to see if we have any refugees here, too, that may need a place to stay.
PinkFreud, in all seriousness:
Make sure of two things: your hubby is not going by himself and they are armed.
Having said that, good luck to him.
Don’t listen to any jerky comments being made. You and your husband are doing a very good thing and I’m sending warm thoughts and good luck your way.
Good luck to your husband, PinkFreud. Having compassion for other species is one of the things that gives me hope for ours.
I am choked up reading this. May God smile on Mr. Pink and his friends. The world needs more people like this.
Anna
BRAVO ! BRAVO ! >applauding wildly<
I for one am so sick of reading Unregistered Bull’s animal hate I could puke. Thank you SkipMagic.
You should copy that statement into the Pit thread. It would probably be one of the most sensible and thought-provoking commments in there.
I couldn’t leave my cats behind alive, to possibly starve or be killed in an awful way.
If I absolutely had to evacuate in someone else’s transport, and pets were not allowed, I’d have my cats put down humanely first. That may sound dreadful, but anyone who has seen me talk about my cats on these boards knows how much I love them.
It would haunt me for a long time though. And when I returned I’d do my best to adopt rescued animals.
