My husband does somthing weird with peanutbutter....

I wish Marcie would smooth the peanut butter. Instead, she digs straight down through the center and pays no attention to the sides. Knives end up with peanut butter on the handle and then they get tossed in the sink for me to deal with. And if those knives get wet, it’s just horrid, especially when I reach into the water, looking for silverware to put in the dishwasher. And she leaves peanut butter on the sides of the jar and she never, ever, under any circumstances whatever screws the damned lid back on, no matter how much it hurts me she won’t screw the damned lid back on the damn peanut butter and she insists on putting it in the refrigerator and that’s just wrong. hillbilly queen just thinks her husband does weird stuff with peanut butter.

Eeeeewwww, peanutbutter in the dishwater is bad. It gets slimy then floats to the top and fastens itself onto your wrists.

I am compelled to smooth out Nutella, though not peanut butter. Also to scrape down the inside of the jar to the (newly lowered) level of the Nutella.

Obsessive-compulsive? Probably not, It’s just an excuse to get more Nutella on the back of the spoon, which of course will need to be licked clean in order to complete the smoothing/scraping process.

I smooth my peanut butter out too. Not to the extent that it looks new, but if I have a spatula handy, I’ll clean up the sides, and try to smooth the top.

I can’t stand PB from the fridge. The Pantry is the only way to go. I love grilled P B & J sandwiches. MMmmmm melted PB is so good!

jjimm, I can see where the salt would improve the flavor of peanut butter. I recently started a thread about adding a dash of salt to coffee before brewing it. It really brings out the good flavor of the coffee ( or takes out the bitter flavor ).
