The news so far is that they can’t find any place that he’s bleeding internally. They are now saying they think he has psrosis (however that’s spelled) of the liver and that’s why his hemoglobin count is so low. We are not exactly sure what all that means, but we’re optimistic. We’ll hear more from the GI doctor in the morning.

Thanks jsgoddess. That was very informative. And since Jaceson doesn’t drink, they are assuming that he just has a fatty disease on both his liver and spleen. We aren’t sure yet what can be done about or how crucial it’ll be, but we should know in the morning when the new doctor comes.

Hope he feels better. I have a fatty liver , it’s a very common issue that causes no problems for most people. I also had low iron but after a lot of tests they said I was really OK

You can have cirrhosis without drinking - alcohol is commonly associated with it, but it does not need to be present for cirrhosis to develop.

I have a fatty liver, and I’d had low hemoglobin count before. I had an ultrasound to make sure it was a healthy [del]baby[/del] liver and it all worked out OK. He’ll be OK too.

Through the night, they gave him two units of blood. But this morning they did a blood draw to test and his hemoglobin is even lower than it was yesterday by a whole point. Now they are even more concerned and aren’t sure what’s wrong.
