They called today to tell us to take him to the ER. That he’s probably bleeding from the abdominal cavity. So now I’m really scared and they are running every test imaginable.
I just could terribly use some Doper support and encouragement. I don’t know what Id do without him.
Thank you all. So far, all we know is that we are still waiting on the CT scan to tell us where the bleeding is specifically coming from. Other than that, they’re transfusing him.
I’m a touch confused. Not that it’s even a tiny bit my business, but “they” called YOU to tell you to take him to the ER? How’d “they” know he was bleeding in the first place?
(“They” = telepathic aliens, right?)
Ok, that’s enough of that. All the best to you and your husband. You’re geographically not very far from me at all - maybe that’ll help speed some luck from my heart to your life. Modern medicine can do some pretty cool shit, so hopefully, very soon you can come back and update us on how much better he’s doing!
I assume he had some symptoms and based on that he went to the ER. That’s what they do is run a bunch of tests. It could turn out to be as little as indigestion. Maybe he has appendicitis. They will find the answer quickly, fix it and this will all be a memory.
Sorry for the confusion… The doctor’s office called him (and he called me at work) about some blood work they had done to check on the swelling of his legs and it came back with a ridiculously low hemoglobin level.
Hopefully, that makes it more clear.
Thank you all for the good thoughts and prayers. It’s helping so much.
Though it isn’t necessary (he’s in good hands and they are so clever these days) it is okay to worry, kemi. When we can’t do anything else for the ones we love, we worry about them.
