My Husband Is Really Ill (Liver Failure) [edited title]

They called today to tell us to take him to the ER. That he’s probably bleeding from the abdominal cavity. So now I’m really scared and they are running every test imaginable.

I just could terribly use some Doper support and encouragement. I don’t know what Id do without him. :frowning:

Thanks for listening.

Kemi

Oh no - wishing him health and you good news.

Prayers for comfort for you and faithhusband.

Regards,
Shodan

Hang in there, and try to keep positive. Keep us posted!

Thank you all. So far, all we know is that we are still waiting on the CT scan to tell us where the bleeding is specifically coming from. Other than that, they’re transfusing him.

I’m so worried, but I am trying to stay positive.

Sending good healing thoughts and best wishes your way.

Hoping things turn out okay.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll figure it out quickly.

I’m a touch confused. Not that it’s even a tiny bit my business, but “they” called YOU to tell you to take him to the ER? How’d “they” know he was bleeding in the first place?

(“They” = telepathic aliens, right?)
Ok, that’s enough of that. All the best to you and your husband. You’re geographically not very far from me at all - maybe that’ll help speed some luck from my heart to your life. Modern medicine can do some pretty cool shit, so hopefully, very soon you can come back and update us on how much better he’s doing!

I assume he had some symptoms and based on that he went to the ER. That’s what they do is run a bunch of tests. It could turn out to be as little as indigestion. Maybe he has appendicitis. They will find the answer quickly, fix it and this will all be a memory.

Sorry for the confusion… The doctor’s office called him (and he called me at work) about some blood work they had done to check on the swelling of his legs and it came back with a ridiculously low hemoglobin level.

Hopefully, that makes it more clear.

Thank you all for the good thoughts and prayers. It’s helping so much.

Modern medicine can do a LOT, so keep your chin up and be there for him (and we’ll be here for you).

I know it’s hard not to, but don’t let yourself get completely eaten up with worry before you know what’s going on. Much good thoughts to you.

Jeez. Hang in there, faithfool. I hope everything turns out OK.

Though it isn’t necessary (he’s in good hands and they are so clever these days) it is okay to worry, kemi. When we can’t do anything else for the ones we love, we worry about them.

Best wishes, sympathy and hope.

:: sending good thoughts your way ::

I’m so sorry to hear it! Hoping for a very quick and smooth diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

Faithfool, you’re in my thoughts and prayers, I’ve lit the candles and insense, and now I’m sending you an ocean of good wishes and positive energy.

Try and stay calm, y’know, eat, breathe, like that!

Kemi, I’m thinking positive thoughts for you and your husband. I have a good feeling that they’ll find the bleed, close it off and all will be well.
