My Idea For an AIDS Benefit Calendar.

Actually, I have had this idea for some time now, and could have shared it sooner.

The inspiration for the calendar idea came when I saw a recent picture of Magic Johnson. You know, even now, Magic Johnson looks pretty sexy. Maybe even more so, than in the past. As a young basketball star, he was rather skinny and gangly, as most are, I suppose. But you know, now that he is older, he has filled out rather nicely. And I am not just saying that as a gay man.

Anyways, why not have an AIDS benefit calendar that showcases the beauty of people who are HIV-positive? Many of them are still beautiful, you know. And looking at them as forbidden fruit (since you can’t have [unprotected] sex with them), makes them even more sexy, I think.

I’d love to share my idea with someone. It’s charity, so I certainly could never accept compensation for it [my idea]. But they could credit me on the calendar, as one of the people who conceived it.

What do the rest of you think?

:):):):)

Edit: And I forgot to ask. Has this idea ever been conceived of before? And why not?

Back in the '90s, when I was still living in NYC, I was a graphic artist volunteering with GMHC. I had the same idea as you, a calendar with 12 photos of studly people (or couples) with AIDS. I wound up relocating before the project got very far; don’t think anyone else picked it up.

Might make more money if you did a calendar of shirtless firemen. Then donate the money to charity. I’m told these calendars sell out quickly!

To see, search google.com for shirtless firemen, then click on images.

I dont think it’ll make much. First, you’re probably already too late for 2017.

Second, this is probably a very limited market. Within a month, the popup kiosks that sell calendars will be in the malls. They have literally hundreds of different calendar styles for me to choose from including at least a dozen of sexy bikini babes. Yeah, nice to look at but totally inappropriate to have at work so I don’t even consider buying one, even if part of the proceeds benefit orphaned puppies in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Third, you’ll need model releases, better line up at least 20 hunks if you want 12.
OTOH, get 12 pix & have Staples print your prototype, only cost you $25 or $30. Show it around to gage interest.
