“We’ve secretly replaced Gozu’s ‘cat’ with a Golden Retriever who has been disguised to look like an average feline. Let’s watch what happens.”
GAK! Want to squeeze her. Boy, she’s a talker. Gorgeous!
I think you should put down the lid on your toilet.
Seriously: very cute kitty. Love the little chirps.
If a moderator could edit my OP to include the links I provided later on, it would be appreciated.
Thanks!
My cat Arthur used to play fetch. He was so cute…throw the ball…he’d pick it up, drop it, expect to chase it again. Unfortunately, when we got another cat, he stopped doing it. I think he got purturbed that other cats were going after the ball too, so he got mad at me and stopped. I was bummed.
He still plays hide and seek with me, though. (I get his attention and run somewhere in the house. He then follows me wherever, and will systematically check every place until he finds me. When he does find me, he gives a little trill, which is so darn cute. BTW: this is Arthur.
Awwwww…Kitten is adorable! I love it when cats do that little half-purr, half-meow. When Maggie does that, she sounds like a pigeon.
Our Misty doesn’t play fetch, she plays “catch”. She likes paperballs, and when you toss them to her, she’ll catch them in her paws, or she’ll bat it right back at you. It’s the cutest thing.
Mick, our doorstop kitty will fetch crumpled cigarette packs. I think he likes the crinkly cellophane.
Daughter called today to tell me that her cat Oscar has learned to brush himself. He can’t reach his back, but he gets his sides and his tummy looking good. Sorry no pics of this yet, but I’ll work on it.
I’m lovin’ these pictures. Nice to have something to smile about.
This is a very Siamese trait. Several of my Meezers have acted like this. My Lilac point Lily loves to fetch her little mice and drop them right next to me. Siamese are very dog-like cats.
That’s very interesting that you say that, because my fetch-playing cat (the one I think is a dog in a cat suit) has some Siamese features. He’s black and white (not a tuxedo, just black and white splotches), but his face and eyes and snout definitely have that Siamese look to them. Several people have commented on it.
My neighbor jokingly calls him a ‘rare black and white Siamese cat.’
Hmm, that’s an interesting factoid. I’m not sure of Kitten’s ancestry but she doesn’t look very siamese to me. Guess that makes her even more special
Morgan la Fey was a solid black cat we had in Hawaii. I had always said I thought she had some Siamese ancestry because of the shape of her head and her voice - she definitely talked! She managed to escape the house during a heat cycle and of course had a litter - all born solid while and starting to develop color points as they got older. Unfortunately, we had to find a home for her in Hawaii because her kittens weren’t weaned yet and were too young to fly.
Gozu, between your Kitten-cat and your (presumably) ladyfriend pictured there, I had to switch off the viewer and weep hot tears of jealousy. How does one man deserve so much joy in this lifetime?
I’ve had a few kittens that would fetch. Most seem to grow out of it.
That is, of course, except for Downtown Spot Brown. Spot was a legend in his own time. I’ve written about his wild parties here before. He was always good for a quick game of “bring my socks back here.” or catch the fake mousey.
Alas, he didn’t live to experience the little rabbit fur mousies we have now. He was content with a knitted one full of catnip. (yes, he did like his little 'nip now and then)
Some day I’ll get someone with a scanner to up load his Sphynx disguise. (the ancient monument, not the cat breed.) He’s lying on the white carpet in front of the fire place, I was taking B/Ws for a class, so I finish the roll off with him. I have no idea how I got the shot I did, but one would swear he was the size of a Great Dane.
That was the 70s. He’s long gone but never forgot.
I think I’ll go have a little sip (nip) of Bailey’s and raise my glass to DT SpotB.
Salude, Spot.
Best. Cat. Name. Ever.
May that day soon come I say.
Feh! I posted about my fetching kitty over a year ago. She’s actually going through another phase of kitten behavior, tearing the hell out of her catnip mousies and chasing the laser pointer but no longer returns thrown items after “catching” them.
I once had a lilac Siamese named “Puppy-Cat” because he was raised by a mother dog and acted just like a dog, including fetching objects. Whenever I got screaming mad, there would be Puppy-Cat with a cigarette pack or a ball in his mouth, waiting to play fetch.
I miss my Puppy-Cat.
