My laptop dies, life squeals to a halt...

sigh
After 3+ years of faithful service, my laptop seems to have given up the ghost. I use that laptop for everything, from school to work to eBay. I always have it with me. I use it in class, and on the couch at home. The data on the hard drive is still there, so I can hook it up to my desktop computer and transfer my files to my new Dell laptop, which I ordered last night and should arrive next Tuesday…

Until then, however, my productivity will be just about zero. This computer has nothing - no Microsoft Word, none of my school files, not my photo album, no saved passwords, no AIM…

I know how you feel. It’s like when the Internet goes out. You sit around and try to remember what else you did with your time! Maybe it’s time to read a book? Paint a picture? Walk the dog? Eat a sandwich?

No in all seriousness, I feel your pain. Hope the new laptop arrives early!

I’m so sorry for your loss.

Is there going to be a funeral service?

I might have to sell off the old parts to help pay for the new one if that counts. Plus anything else around the house tht isn’t nailed down.

Dearly beloved, we gather here to say our goodbyes…

This is what you get when you name your laptop Yorick.

Same exact thing happened to me recently, except I got a Dell desktop.

She’s doing a good job taking the laptop’s place. In fact, we hardly think of the laptop anymore. It’s buried in the yard. That was its favorite place. wipes a tear from his eye
