the once-popular “Beautiful Music” format, which seems to be the precursor of soft pop/rock, smooth jazz & easy listening. Often derided with some justification as “Muzak” but I do like some degree of it.
I was amazed at the intricacies of the format’s development- right up there with CIA Mind-Control experiments!
Btw, I just happened upon this when doing some research on the old Herb Jepko all-night radio call-in show Nitecaps. So I welcome any comments on “Beautiful Music” radio or the old Nitecaps show.
