Mr. Spooks has been jumping out of his skin with excitement about the new Rush album (which he likes, by the way), and he has been bugging me for many months now to check online about the dates of the tour. He’s been a huge fan since Moving Pictures, and, being a drummer, idolizes Neil Peart.
We have tickets for the August 21st show here in Albuquerque, and it seems like a nice venue, under the stars.
Coldfire , if you could pick one song for them to play, which would it be? Mr. Spooks says he would pick “Xanadu.” Close second, “Jacob’s Ladder.”
Have a wonderful time at the concert! Should I post the set list that they play here, or do you want to be surprised?
Sure, post the set list, that’s cool.
What songs do I want them to play? Xanadu would indeed rock, but it might be a tad on the high side for mr Lee these days. Natural Science, Cygnus X-1, Jacob’s Ladder, Hemispheres, Cut to the Chase… there’s so much I want them to play!
I mean, not ever having seen them live, I’d prefer if they would just play all of their songs. I’ll bring extra sammiches, no problem.
And the new album indeed ROCKS!

I was listening to Vapor Trails and I came to the song “Peaceable Kingdom”, and while I was listening to it I looked down at the CD booklet opened up, back side and front side facing up, and I suddenly realized that the two black streaks are the Twin Towers. Check it out for yourself, and tell me what you think. Notice the smudges that go through the upper part of the “Towers.”

Don’t know about the front and back, that could be a coincidence.
But Geddy and Alex have explained in interviews that Peacable Kingdom was written with 9-11 in mind. So the Tower tarot card definitely makes sense.
