OMG. I haven’t been this sick in forever.
On the bright side, my voice sounds super sexy.

Congrats, TagFree! How exciting!
Boo for tendinitis, colds, sore throats, plantar fasciitis, etc.!
Pie, a friend of mine whose youngest child was born many, many years after the first two referred to him for years as “Baby Ooops.” I suspect your coworker would appreciate that.
I am sitting here in bed with a 'puter on my lap (well, on a tray on my lap so I don’t overheat it), and the only problem I have is that Her Majesty is VERY annoyed with me. My lap belongs to HER, dammit! We’ll see how long it takes her to walk across the keyboard or, better yet, sit in the middle of it. Stoopid cat.
My kid just emailed me asking for $900. She’s going to have to scoop a lot of poop to pay that back!!! A big chunk of it is to cover her gas - she drives about 40 minutes one way to her internship. Thankfully, that ends in a couple of weeks. Still… <shudder> I’m glad she’s almost done with school.
Thanks, Shadow. Yeah, I just looked up Ohio’s parity law and both Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar are covered.
FCM, can I have $900 too?
[DEL]Two things:[/DEL]
Congrats again all around Labelless, now we need info on the conception. Details!
Also, wishing Haze would get better soon.
[DEL]Three things:[/DEL]
Someone please hold my hand, I’m getting a tooth pulled tomorrow AM and I’m terrified by the dentist.
Four things:
I
Pie.
Don’t tell.
Mooom - I need about $200K - can you spare it?
Since it was overshadowed by NolaBel’s wonderful news, I’ll say again - I am finally getting a tenant in. :whew: a single dad and his daughter. They seem very nice and very quiet. They move in on Tuesday. Again I say :whew:!
Pick me! Pick me!
I’m all a flutter (N.O.F).

Congrats, rosie!
I don’t know if it’s the cold or the flu, but I feel sicker by the hour. Ugggggggh. :: melts on sofa ::
Will somebody tell TVMan to put a damn sock in it? I was just talking to him via IM and telling him that I’m dyeing my hair right now. He said it’s probably not a good time to tell you that I prefer natural shades. So I told him that the alternative method of dealing with my frustrations is to shave my damn head and which would he prefer. :smack:
Congrats, rosie! Too bad, though, I could have sent TVMan to live with you.
Gah, why am I a member of this place’s community on another website? All it is is the “Old-Timer’s” (read: The Clique) whining about how much better it was before XYZ when they ran the show. Now they’re bitching about this announcement and spreading rumors that “telling people how to install ad-blocking software is a bannable offense.” Anyone else remember when the banner ads first appeared? How many times was AdBlock Plus patiently explained to Firefox users? How many people were banned?
GAH!
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. This is the only place I feel safe ranting about this. I am so glad the old Clique is gone and I hope they stay gone.
In other news, I saw some pollen on the sidewalk as I left the library and I thought it was a dried-up miniature squid. This is how I know I’ve been at work too long.
Is the American work ethic that it’s better to stay home when you’re sick and not spread germs? Because the Korean work ethic is to go to work unless you are about to die and germs be damned. I’m trying to decide what to do tomorrow morning. On the one hand, I have a movie screening scheduled so it’d be an easy class; on the other, the commute is 1.5 hours there and another 1.5 hours to the other college for my afternoon class.
I guess I’ll wake up tomorrow and see how I feel. Right now the thought of getting up and walking over to the bathroom overwhelms me. Why do my legs hurt if I have a cold? I feel like I ran a marathon yesterday or something. Blech. :: whine whine whine ::
Hooray for Sans A Tag! Here, I recently found out that my nephew got his girlfriend pregnant (when she came to visit the one thing my sister had to say to her son was “please don’t make me a grandma this week!” See how well that works out?) and they just found out it’s twins! Check out Thing 1 and Thing 2! They’re about 12 weeks along and nobody’s sure whether they’re boys or girls or both yet.
Rigs, hope things get better, and give a pat on the back to the boy–way to be Mr Responsible! My friend and co-worker is also beginning the process of divorce and I’m simultaneously sorry for him and envying him. On the one hand the process pretty much sucks ass, on the other hand I’m jonesing for some solitude myself. The part I absolutely don’t envy is that we’re trying to start a business right now and this isn’t helping his stress levels a bit.
Hands Haze a kleenex and some tylenol and a cup of chicken soup.
Rosie, congrats on the new tenant! Yay!
Pie, blue is a natural shade for many birds and insects, just sayin’… Red, blue, yellow and green combined are perfectly natural shades for parrots. TVMan should shut up while he’s ahead.
beebs, buck up–the alternative is worse. I broke a tooth earlier this week and can’t afford to have the remainder pulled out, it’s cutting up my tongue and it hurts when I chew. Teeth are badly designed, as are spines and knees. I wish I did believe in a god so I could get pissed and demand an explanation for some of these items!
I found out that I can actually fit a drill press into my car today, and then learned how to use it, along with a tap and die. I am Tool Using Woman, fear me! We’re starting to produce our gadgets and we have QVC sniffing around us as well as independent financing–it’s getting scary yet fun. Well, better too many options than too few, right? Tiger by the tail…
Congrats Nolabel!
Yay for new quiet tenants rosie!
I just got home from a date. He’s kinda cute, and we talked about lots of stuff (well, mostly travel both in country and out since he’s been out and I’ve travelled in, as well as books and computer games and just random stuff) and he paid for supper (which I didn’t expect) then we wandered the mall and wandered the game stores then he drove me home and dropped me off at my door and we kissed (once we got past that weird awkward point when your on the first date and you don’t know if you want to kiss or not… which I broke by saying how it is always awkward and he agreed and then we kissed…). And he said he’d like to see me again and I’d like to see him too.
It was nice. Now I think I need to wash my face and maybe pop in Jane Eyre and knit for a little before I go to sleep.
I watched Parenthood tonight (American Beauty was out). It was good–I’ve seen it before.
BTW, insurance companies do indeed try to weasel out of diabetes and other “physical” illnesses, quite a bit. Can you tell I hate insurance companies? Good luck, Pie.
Hazel-MY work ethic is call in. 2 reasons: 1. you never do. and 2. you need time to get better. I stayed home all weekend and really babied myself and I no longer sound like Jimmy Durante and I feel much better. Of course, my emotional angst is high, wide and deep, but my cold is almost gone!
If you feel rotten and/or are contagious: STAY HOME!!!
Yay Nola!!! Guess you won’t be lonely for long when Jimmy goes off to school…
rigs, let me assure you that it’s hair-color independent. I needed you to connect the dots for me to get Nola Belle. One of my college friends used to say “Blond(e) is a state of mind.” Oh, and, I haven’t seen Parenthood in ages.
Forgot earlier: Dotty that Two Lumps made me giggle. A lot.
Fell asleep for a while. Just woke up, thinking it was much later. Hope I can fall asleep again quickly.
GT
Congrats, Nola! We’re always ready to help out with another baby … well, help as much as we can.
I have been suffering all day with sinus and head congestion, which led to throat problems; I’m pretty sure that it’s pollen related, because I just took a claritin and I’m feeling a lot less congested. I seem to get more sensitive to pollen every spring!
I slept earlier, for about three hours  and now it’s messed me up. I need to get back to sleep to ensure a “good” day tomorrow. Nighters, Mumpers!
Morning all. Wow, lots happened while I was busy working and eating and sleeping and tending to a baby who decided 4am was a good time to wake up today (in fairness to HRH, I think she had a tummy-ache, as [Baby TMI]she didn’t have a bowel movement last night before bedtime[/Baby TMI])! That said, this is me yawning through my morning -> :o :o :o
Congrats Tagfree! Wheeeeeeee, another mumper baby!!!
rosie, congrats on getting new, hopefully quiet, respectable tenants!!!
{{{rigs}}} You sound like you are doing such a great job with your kids, as well as managing all the stuff going on, I just figure a girl can never have too many hugs!
All you sick people, {{{cyber-hugs}}}, but stay at home and don’t go 'round infecting innocent people who are just trying to get through the day with not enough sleep and a bad case of the Don Wannas and who definitely don’t need your cooties &c. to foul up their day even more!!! ![]()
I am on a Two Lumps kick these last few days (helps pass the pretendy-worky time). This one made me think of Haze (dunno why - maybe that emo essay you wrote?). But this one nearly made me wet myself!!!
I’m awake tooooo early this morning and I’m still looking for a pukey smiley. We’ve got a busy day planned today with 1 breakfast and 4 lunches. This evening we’re having a girls’ night out at the Carousel to see The King and I. Hopefully I can find a nap somewhere in between.
Sending out some more hugs and anti-hugs today to beebs as he faces the dentist.
Forrosie
