I’m so very sorry.
My mom is approaching her elderly years and yet I can’t bring myself to imagine what it would be like without her. The love of a mother is a special, sacred thing. I’ve no words, other than just taking comfort in that your mother’s love is in your heart and it made you who you are today, so in a way, through you, she lives on.

My sympathies.
When my husband died it was me and my sister sitting next to him in a quiet room watching him. My sister is a hospice doctor, she sees people die every day and is very familiar with the phenomena. I still noticed before she did that he was gone. When a death is peaceful you might miss the moment even if you aren’t looking at your phone or talking with someone, even if you know what to expect, even if you’ve seen it before.
Your mother’s passing must have been peaceful indeed to happen unnoticed with others around her. Don’t feel bad about missing the moment. You were there, she was cared for, those are the important details.
