Oh no. I’m sorry – I feel so lucky I was able to get to see my mom awake for a little bit before she feel asleep and died later that night.
I’m sorry, OP, but glad your mom was at peace and had you there with her. My father was right by my mom and pointed out when he heard the rattle.

I’m very sorry for your loss, Cats. I was beside my father when he passed away at home in hospice care…I think he passed when my Mom went to walk the dogs - she needed a break and I think he knew it was time…it was 16 years ago and it seems like yesterday and I miss him everyday…

Don’t beat yourself up. It would be impossible, anyway, to be looking at her day and night without stop. You were there with her and she knew it. Take comfort in that!

My sincerest condolences, TMC. My own Mom passed away in August in much the same way although it was my sister who was there, not me. I feel your loss.
