I just saw this, before opening the thread I was hoping the title was just some obscure cultural reference. I am sorry to hear this really happened. My sincere condolence to Dio and Cricetus.
I’m late to the thread, but please accept my deepest condolences. She’s my mom’s age, and if I had to guess, I’d say you and I are close to the same age (mid 30s), which really brings this close to home. I may be 36, but dang it if I don’t feel like a 10-year-old kid all over again when I think about my mom’s mortality.
I’d like to offer you my condolences too, Cricetus. I didn’t realize prior to this thread that you were Dio’s brother.
And what a warm and happy photo. And what a pretty young woman she was. I can see why this photo would be favorite.
It’s funny. My father was roughly thirty years older than she was but he used to sing “You Are My Sunshine” when we were kids also. I bet she got that from her parents too (she was only a couple years older than me), and that it took on extra meaning for her after you were born.
