Adding my thoughts of support. We’re here for you.
My god, Dio. I’m so sorry. That’s horrifying.
Terrible news, Dio, I’m very sorry to hear of this and wish you strength in the days and weeks ahead.
When you do have to go out there, try to take someone with you who can drive back. You’ll probably make the drive out okay, but identifying a body is a terrible experience and you’d do better not to have to drive afterward.
Hang in there, Dio. What a terrible thing.
That sucks Dio. I’m really sorry to hear it.
I am so sorry for your loss. Sincere condolences to you and your family.
I’ve only read the first post, but I had to tell you how sorry I am this has happened to your family. I cannot imagine what you are going through. I don’t pray, but you are in my thoughts.
Everything I can say sounds so trite, but I am so sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry to hear that. My deepest sympathies with you and your family.
Diogenes, I am very sorry to hear this. We haven’t always gotten along on the boards, but I’ve always had the sense that you’re a fine fellow in the real world, and I know how difficult such a loss can be.
Please be well, an dplease remember to take care of your children as well as yourself.
I am so sorry.
I’ve only read the OP, so forgive me if the news has changed, but I’m so sorry, Diogenes. So sorry.
So sorry - Wishing you and your family strength.
My sympathies to you and your family.
Here’s a local news story about it.
I got more info from this article than I have from the fire department yet. We still haven’t been officially notified. The fact that she was found in bed probably means the smoke got her in her sleep, which is the least horrible thing could hope for, I guess. The article says the smoke alarms in the house never went off. That doesn’t surprise me. My mother had difficulty changing lightbulbs and had to get people to do it for her. No way she was changing smoke alarm batteries.
Dio, I offer my deepest condolences…losing a parent is so terribly hard.
You are in my thoughts - and please, please consider having someone go with you when the time comes to go look at the house/assess damages. Don’t try to do it all alone.
hugs
I’m very sorry for your loss, Dio.
Profound condolences, DtC, there’s nothing else for me to say.
I am so sorry to hear this.
My heart is with you as my younger sister was killed in a house fire 10 years ago, she survived the actual event but died of severe burn injuries after 2 days of unbelieveable pain.
This will be hard but time will eventually soften the pain although that may be hard to believe now.
My sympathies, again.
