We just heard “Blues in the NIght” on the radio, and my 12-y-o son and I both began singing, “My momma done told me there’s a man in the bathroom.”

I know I taught him that. But I can’t for the life of me remember where it came from. A Looney Tune?

I seem to remember a Bugs Bunny cartoon with this in it - maybe with Beaky the Buzzard? “My momma done tole me…to catch me a rabbit…nyuck nyuck nyuck”

It was sung repeatedly by Daffy Duck in the Chuck Jones-directed My Favorite Duck (1942).

No mention of a bathroom though, that I can recall. Frankly, your version sounds creepy.
