I read in my dreams as well. I’ve heard some say that you can’t read in your dreams, but I have no idea where that idea comes from. Most people I’ve talked to about dreams seem to be able to read fine. Now getting a phone to work properly or dialing a phone number or not getting a busy signal when I dial 911–that’s a skill I haven’t mastered in Dreamland.

I read this thread yesterday (name change noted) and couldn’t remember if I ever read anything in my dreams. And I remember a lot of my dreams. Then last night I dreamed that my name was on a list of speakers for a conference. And I couldn’t find anyone to tell that I no longer worked in that field and had no speech. Then I dreamed about driving on an interstate and looking for my exit. None of the signs were my exit and the last one I saw said “Maternity and OB Gyn”. So I either do read in my dreams all the time and just never noticed or this thread worked its way in to my dreams.

(Trivia - the Germanicized version of the word is Dachs, which is where Dachshund comes from. Many Americans forget that most of the small dog breeds, which we today regard as merely cute, were bred to be vicious small-game sporting dogs, used to flush animals out from their burrows.)

I read in dreams all the time. Usually it’s hard to tell whether I’m reading what’s written or making up what I read.

Elected a president who is hated by the rest of the world. I wouldn’t even mind this one if that president actually did something useful, but he doesn’t.

Has a healthcare system that is a complete catastrophe.

I don’t hate America, I just wish America was more like Canada.

I mean, I know a lot of really cool intelligent people also, people like that exist everywhere, but in the main, America is lagging behind Canada at this point in time. Also, Canada’s flag manages to have a leaf on it and also be completely symmetrical, which is, essentially, quite badass.

I have read in my dreams occasionally, though it doesn’t come up often.

My trouble is finding a toilet that works or isn’t in full public view. I have those dreams a lot.

Oddly enough, last night I was reading in my dream. For some reason, I needed to go to the library and take a Fake Book (it’s a large collection of lead sheets/summarizes sheet music) and had to use a computer terminal to find the catalog number. Unfortunately, every time I tried to type the letters F A K E, something like G H R J would come out, like all the keys were mis mapped. I never did manage to track down the Fake Book, though I woke up right before consulting a librarian to help me.

I started a thread about this very topic several moons ago because I had had a dream where I was desperately trying to read something and the words were all blurry, like they were buzzing and moving like hummingbird wings on the page. That isn’t the first time I’d experienced that, either.

Perhaps someone more skilled than I could dig it up, I never get good search results on here. It was interesting reading.
