"My Name is Earl," 2-15-07

Randy: “it was for Gary at Water & Power, but while he was standing in some water, he touched some power, so they had to postpone the party.”

Absolutely, that was Nikki, all right. Her real-life name is Melody Thomas Scott.

It’s kind of weird … she’s sort of “immortal” on Y&R, never really seeming to age much. But on Earl last night, she took it down a notch, to be sure.

They rpobably film her through gauze or something for the soap. Kudos to her for allowing herself to appear looking like that on TV, though. Yowza! She really looked like hell. Come to think of it, she looked a lot like Nikki probably would look in real life instead of soap-life (she started on Y&R as a teen hooker or stripper or something, didn’t she?)

Really? I used to watch Y&R, but when I got a full time job I just couldn’t sit through watching five hours of a taped soap opera on the weekend, so I gave up on it. Yikes…I didn’t recognize her!

Yes, she started out as a stripper, married some rich guy, got divorced, married another rich guy, got divorced, went back to first rich guy, married, got divorced, sent her pre-teen children off to boarding school, where they returned six weeks later All Growed Up, battled alcohol and painkiller addiction…you know, standard soap opera fare.

I THOUGHT THAT WAS HER!!!
Still… backhanded tap on your shoulder … dibs.

Have they ever explained Crabman’s grandma? Since he’s in the witness relocation program it wouldn’t make much sense for him to live with her, but that’s twice now they’ve mentioned it.

Also, not so much last night as in past weeks, have you noticed how Darnell’s gotten a bit more “learned” since it was revealed he graduated college at 14?

Nah, you’ve forgotten Crabman’s lucid explanation of the electoral college back in the first season. He’s always dropping smart bombs.

(sorry to come so late to the party,)

My guess is that he was told by the WPP people to just be an average, Camden county hick, but every now and then his smart side comes through.
