My name is Little Nemo and I have a Castle addiction

I’m not sure. I have a memory like a steel sieve. I think she was attempting to make breakfast in bed for dad because she wanted a scooter - maybe???

Thanks.

What was the callback? It seemed like they were parodying X-Files the whole time.

**The Controvert - **Castle speaking Chinese to the factory workers. Beckett says “Semester abroad?” and he says, “No, it’s from a TV show I used to love”. Because Chinese was the 2nd language of all the characters on Firefly, of course.

StG

I replayed that bit a couple of times, cracking up each watching. It’s nice to see that the writers and directors can have fun with the show.

Now, what was the big secret Lyle Lovett told Beckett?

Just checked at Amazon: Season 2 (& Season 1) DVD’s are on sale for less than $20 each!

Probably what agency he worked for and his phone number.

He was on Twitter watching and tweeting along in synch with last Monday’s airing of the show (PST). It was a lot of fun–as the show continues to be, too.

And he was wearing a brown coat with a crimson shirt under it for this episode. Can’t be a coincidence.

I laughed loud enough to startle my wife when he said that line. My wife looked at me like I was a loon and informed me that the line wasn’t that funny. I started to explain it, but she just asked if it was one of those “space cowboy” jokes.

My big question is - Is there more inside jokes in this show? The only one’s I’ve picked up on were this one and last year’s halloween episode.

“Didn’t you wear that like 5 yrs ago?”

Pure gold.

One episode had Castle pulling on blue latex gloves, then making a very River-esque gesture of “Two by two, hands of blue.”

I loved the look on his face after she said that. He was dying to make a “That’s what she said” comment.

I love the touch on last night’s episode about the empty chair for Stephen J. Cannell. It shows an unusual amount of respect from a fictional character for a real-life person

Bear in mind that only half of the characters in the room were fictional.

I liked a lot about that episode, including the sweet moment between Castle/Beckett right at the end.

Am I fooling myself that after all of this buildup, they truly have to have something epically significant, that they’ll never be able to be quite the same after, happen between those two in the season finale? For good or for bad, I can’t say which, but it feels like it’s gotta happen.

I teared up. I love his books and his tv shows and I was very sad at his passing and it really moved me that they acknowledged it.

Castle went to California tonight. Best episode I’ve seen in awhile.

One of the rare times they didn’t do “the wrong suspect” trope. All the clues point to a suspect. Then that theory gets shot down. Next suspect. repeat. I’ve seen them do this three times in one episode. Sort of a signature for any Castle episode.

It’s nice to see a story that didn’t do that. Kate Beckett in a swimsuit is a nice bonus. They got some great shots in LA. Isn’t Castle normally shot in NY for real?

The heat between Kate and Castle is getting pretty intense. Maybe next season it’s time to explore that relationship?

D.B Sweeney was looking rough. I sort of recognized him, but had to look at the IMDB to find out who it was.

The Castle formula is:
[ul]
[li]Body is discovered by someone.[/li][li]Castle at home, setting up Family-oriented sub-story premise when phone call comes in.[/li][li]Investigation of crime scene.[/li][li]Forensic Investigator makes pithy joke.[/li][li]Interview of family and friends of victim; one of these people will be the killer. If there is a particularly recognisable actor cast, such as Bruce Davison or Mark Sheppard, it will be them.[/li][li]Ryan and Esposito say or do something amusing.[/li][li]All their enquiries lead to a dead end.[/li][li]Castle already knows either the victim, a suspect, or has a friend who can help the case in some way.[/li][li]Beckett reveals some sly tidbit about her past that turns Castle on.[/li][li]Castle goes home to advance the Family-oriented subplot, where they say something that enlightens him to solve the case.[/li][li]Beckett and Castle fill in the blanks by ending each other’s sentences.[/li][li]Chase scene and bad guy is caught.[/li][/ul]

Sprinkle liberally with witty one-liners and serve.

Oh, sure, it’s a formula. But formula’s okay as long as it’s done well. And Castle, like House or CSI, does it right.
