I got it about a month ago, finally finished my backlog of hardcovers and am reading my first book on the Oasis. Love it. I read a lot of history, and since my memory is not what it used to be, I forget a lot of the details as soon as I finish a book. I dog-ear pages that I think are of particular note, and go back and read those after I finish a book as a summary. But sometimes I can’t even remember the paragaph on those pages that I wanted to remember. And I am not one to get out a highlighter.
Now I can easily highlight text and read it online. And I love reading with one hand.
My late wife had a Kindle, the Paperwhite, and I read a couple of books, but the Oasis has a bigger and wider screen, and since I have to read with glasses anyway, I make the font pretty small, each page has about 80% of the text that would be in a hardcover
I have an Oasis as well. I love it. I especially love the physical page turn buttons. Reminded me of my old Kindle 2. The bigger screen is very nice as well. The only issue is since it is bigger, it doesn’t fit in the jeans back pocket like my Kindle Voyage did.
My only complaint is the lack of USB-C charging. Everything else I have is USB-C… I just want one cable to rule them all!
This is off topic, but if I’m reading a book on my Kindle (not sure of the model but it only has the on/off button) how do I get to the home screen? Typically I hit random places on the page until I get the option for the home page, but that’s very frustrating, and I’m sure there’s an easier way!!
So I ordered and just received a stylus pen to highlight text rather than using my fat finger. $8.99 and I got 4! If you click the link the picture shows 4, I thought that was just color choices but when I ordered I didn’t see an option to choose a color.
They have clips like a regular pen, maybe I can figure out a way to attach it to my phone for text messages. I hate typing text messages on a phone. Don’t know what I am going to do with the other two.
