OK, administrators, ya want flamin’? Ya got it!

For the umpteenth time, here’s my observation about these boards, and I’m not bothering to respond. Just speaking from my bandbox.

While many people may be impressed by knowledge, even though that knowledge may be used cruelly, such as for nuclear/bio/chemical warfare, or for ruthless scientific research, or for unscrupulous journalism, I’m not impressed. I’d rather deal with kind not-so-informed people, than with sophisticated icicles or razor-sharp-brained sadists. Of course, since the former can become tedious, my ideal is to interact exclusively with truly-informative empaths. (but as someone here pointed out, there’s more chance of obtaining the moon.)

All too many SDMB respondents (male and linear-thinking perhaps? not sure…) have the characteristics of seeking/offering knowledge motivated by curiosity/thrill-seeking respectively, and not so much the characteristics of seeking/offering knowledge motivated by empathy.

Many members of SDMB have the characteristics of admiring and promoting cruelty, while demonizing decent people, via their network of twisted thinkers, who are experts at twisting the truth, just as journalists do. For example, it would be predictably typical of them to take passages from this post and quote them back to me OUT OF CONTEXT in future.

Judgmentalism, aggressiveness & crassness are encouraged by the administration.

You’d think that at the very least, the GQ board would discourage off-topic responses. But apparently the SDMB administration flinches at the thought of not pandering to its predominant clientele.

So, as I see it, there is no hope for this world. A world where crassness is admired will destroy itself.

Final Note: I’m not saying there aren’t many decent members too. And that’s the only reason why I post here. Because statistically speaking, a few people out of a thousand might have a decent, informative answer to any particular question.

So far, you’ve started two threads bitching about the boards in the past week alone. One of which, I might add, was in the wrong forum.

If the good outweighs the bad for you, you’d be better of not complaining so much.

After all, why invest all that effort in a Pit rant when you could have used that valuable time separating those one-in-a-million gems of GQ answers from the overwhelming flow of penned down horse crap that so obviously characterises this board?

What pisses me off about jally is that I answered her question in this thread, at least the part I knew about, and she still called me “linear”. [sub]is that suposed to be an insult of some kind?[/sub]

About that site she keeps mentioning, I think that is what she has been working on for the last 10 months. Designing what she feels to be the “perfect message board”. That would seem to explain her evangelical drive to convince everyone to convert to her system.
