Exactly. I have a mind control fetish, and while I’m sure amateur psychoanalysts could talk about control issues or whatnot, but honestly, it’s a lot more likely it came from me growing up with Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, the Superfriends, and whatnot on Saturday morning cartoons. Almost every other episode had someone brainwashed by a mind-control ray, or a chip, or turned into a bee-person by a giant radioactive space-bee-creature, etc.
That is often used as a textbook definition of a fetish, but almost no online fetish communities that I’ve seen stick to it.
I have two very powerful fetishes, both originating well before puberty. Because of this, I’ve spent a lot of time reading up on fetishes in an effort to understand my own. One thing I read that seems to ring true for mine is that a fetish is the eroticization of a deeply held fear. Is there an element of that for you? Great comment, thanks for your thoughts. Although it may seem obsessive to want to analyze my fantasies, I feel it’s more an exploration of where they come from and what they are about. I don’t think it’s possible to come up with anything sexually arousing that isn’t shared by quite a few people, at least.
Without going into details, my very first sexual fantasy happened at the age of 5. Of course, I didn’t know anything about sexuality, and had no idea that the “funny feeling” in my genital area was sexual arousal. But there were several unmistakable aspects of it that have survived for the remainder of my 67 years. They have of course grown in complexity, but the seeds of sexuality can be traced back to the age of 5. This defies any kind of analysis or explanation. They cannot be explained by any previous trauma, neither physical nor emotional. These feelings just ARE.
And it’s interesting to note that my partner of almost 25 years bears an uncanny resemblance to the object of that fantasy. At the age of 5, I somehow already knew my “type.”
Yeah, my knockout fetish started at about the same age, if not sooner. I remember watching some TV program at my grandparent’s house, and seeing a pretty brunette unconscious and getting “cradle-carried” by some big guy. Can’t remember the show, but that scene definitely had an effect on me.
The next scene that I definitely recall was seeing a cartoon, “Space Ghost”, where the hero’s assistant Jan gets KOed.

I love it. I agree that it probably is their reaction, that you could lure them away from their duties, that is the erotic appeal but still, the fantasy is very hot. I have also always fantasized about similar women: maids, secretaries, librarians, teachers. Interesting to me is that they are all servants of a sort, already submissive in a way. I can see a thin parallel between these characters and the knocked out female heroines that I lust after.

Seems like basic dominance to me, trace it back to cave men knocking out women with a club and dragging them back into their cave (ok maybe that is a relatively modern notion.) I think your fetish is fairly normal or else all those writers wouldn’t have made scenes like that in movies.
