My Outlook Express receives okay but is slow to send

All my messages come through just fine into the inbox, but when I send something out, it often doesn’t go because something or other was rejected. But if I try it the next day, it will go out–eventually.
So the messages all get out at some point, but why does it refuse to send them for such a long time?

I sometimes (rarely) get this w/ my bell atlantic account and other times (more often) with one of my work accounts. I really don’t know why it happens. Does it happen all the time?

To overcome sending problems on my work account I have set up an additional account that would send from my bell atlantic account but look like it was from my work account. this account is set not to check for incomming mail.

It’s probably the mailer server at your ISP. Wait & see if they clean up the constipation.

Try clicking the “Send/Receive” button and see if that sends it out. Who is your ISP? Mine is Comcast and they’ve had troubles in the past due to traffic volume, necessitating changing the address site from generic “Mail” to a site in Tennessee: mail.rdcl.tn.home.com. Whenever I have trouble, I just switch the mail sites.

Call your ISP and tell them your problem.

barbitu8: It is CWIA. (CompuWorld Internet Access)

k2Dave: It has been happening a lot lately. I do hit the send/receive button, but it doesn’t make any difference.
I will call them and ask them what’s up with this.

Thank you one and all.
