I love this film and watch it every year the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Beer or wine is required. Let The Good Times Roll
My favorite music/comedy ever. That’s the best blues band you can muster, back then.
“We have both kinds. We have country AND western!”
Locrian…Locrian is it? How you gonna eat turkey and stuffing…with no FUCKIN teeth!!
RIP Charles Napier…you were one creepy scary dude.
Not in the movie, but a karaoke classic I have sometimes sung: “Hey, Bartender!”
BTW, WRT:
"I blew each and all of my friends
“Felt so good I had to blow 'em again”
“Blow” means “treat,” as in, “Sure, Mike, if you’ll blow me to a pail of suds!” (Line from an O. Henry story.) It’s easily misunderstood, I know . . .
The original Blues Brothers movie is absolutely wonderful and holds up perfectly.
Chickenwire?
Iirc that was shot in the old Palomino Club in Reseda in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles.
They had a band powerful enough to turn goat piss into gasoline.
I’m probably in the minority here, but I liked Blues Brothers 2000 even more than the original, and I LOVE the original.
No, it was “Bob’s Country Bunker”, somewhere in the Mid-West, as you can never convince me that this documentary about the saving of an orphanage is anything other than 100% true and accurate, like everything you see at the movies or on TV.
If its on the screen, it has to be real. That’s, like, the law or something.
If it was Bob would be a multimillionaire by now.
It’s the second song I ever sang at karaoke, and six years later it’s still my favorite. Those first three notes get everybody’s attention, and the subject matter is perfect when it’s close to last call at the bar.
