I view it as inevitable that someone would do this sooner or later.
Better a drone than a human being. Although humans straying too close have had mishaps with lava, too.
I work for a robotics company. Mostly I do testing, but a couple years ago I volunteered to demo the robots to all our new hires on their first day. Part of the demo is to kick the front of the robot to trigger the bump sensor.
When the robot revolution comes, there is a wall with my name on it.
And I am printing this out, to score points with our future mechanised overlords.
