I can get a max or so of 45 min. out of it before the movie just stops and I get a message saying that it’s an “invalid disk”. I have all the updates and everything so that isn’t the problem, and I have played a regular DVD in it without any problems. Does anybody have any ideas?
I have an older system that I got back in the days when it was backwards compatible, and I do use it for the older games…but I doubt that is the problem.
Any help or advice on other places to look or something?
Do you have a digital thermometre? Is the system running hot? Can you play games normally on it after it stops reading the BR disk? (BR games, of course, not normal PS2 games) Is it standing or lying down? Can you see any scratch marks or impressions on the disc? Can you compare different disks? Are the disks burnt or store-bought?
Is it a time thing, regardless of the disk? If you play 10 minutes of one movie, then 10 of another, etc., will it die? Similarly, if you take a movie that you were watching out, wait a while, then play it again from that point, will it go another 45 minutes?
How long do you have to wait before playing new movies again? Does it change if you power cycle it?
I have no idea what it could be, but the above is just some general trouble-shooting to try to figure out what’s triggering the problem.
