Some of you read my thread about my new kitty cat. We finally decided on a name, or should I say I finally got tired of the kids trying to come to an agreement that I just took matters into my own hands and named her.
I really appreciate all those great name suggestions, but in the end I went with something that wasn’t related to the coffee shop.
My 19 year old son wanted to name her “Scroteless” or “Skanky”. I just smacked him upside the head and told him to shut up.
My daughter wanted to give her a stupid superhero name. They all sucked.
My 9 year old son thought the coffee names were okay but he wanted to name her after a Pokemon. My daughter said “No way!”
I gave them until today to agree on a name. They didn’t.
She has a tiny little black dot near her nose so I named her Dotty. The kids aren’t thrilled, but oh well. . . .
The vet says she is doing a lot better. She has gained weight and her fur is now clean and shiny. She is a lot more active and likes to play now. Next month is her big appointment with the vet to get spayed. There was no microchip and no one has placed an add looking for her. I guess she is here to stay.
Dotty is a wonderful name, and kudos to you for adopting the lucky little critter. Since she’s in that adorable tiny stage you can coo to her about being da widdle micro-dot and drive your kids crazy.
Honestly, your good folks, Diane, and best wishes to your clan, 2 and 4 footed.
Now if I could just warm up to my daughter’s big albino rat named Willis. (Don’t worry about the kitty cats eating him, he stays locked away in my daughter’s bedroom in a cat-safe tank and is almost as big as both my cats.)
Big hairless pink tail, pink beady eyes, and little claws.
::::shiver::::
(Pssst - He really isn’t so bad :))
One of my roomies from college had a big albino rat named Ralf that she had rescued from psych lab. He was soooo cool. He even performed in one of our plays. And he liked chocolate, although I’m sure it wasn’t particularly good for him. I really like rodents.
Excellent cat name BTW. The cafe names were nice, but Dotty rules! Of course, this is from a woman with cats named Squirt and Jack, so what do I know?
Okay Naw, sounds good to me. Guess you couldn’t come up with a coffee related name for your kitty.
Now as for the rat, I have heard they make excellent pets. I would get one myself but I already have two cats, a dog and fish, this place is too small for a tiny zoo!
Three dogs & it took us ages to come up with a name for Val (the breeder had named him Theobald…he most definitely was not a theo - or bald!). In the end I named him after Lucy’s brother (Lucy is the eldest of my 3), & it lends itself to so many nicknames … DeVal, Lord Valdemort, & nice ones too! Valinat, valley, tons which I won’t bore you with.
Good luck with Dooty, Diane, & with the spaying. Lucy has to have an op tomorrow to have one of her canine teeth removed - the roots are so deep that apprently they can bleed from the nose afterwards! ouch!
