I’ve never really understood why it’s regarded as funny, or even acceptable, to talk about eating people’s pets. Not just here; I know someone in real life who brings up his desire to kill and eat pet parrots whenever the subject comes to his attention.
I know. People just seem to take pleasure in being mean sometimes.
