Years ago I saw a book which showed examples of how graphic artists secretly incorporate images or messages into their designs. For example an ad for a cigarette had a hockey scene with the word “cancer” on the wrist band of a hockey glove, and I’m sure many of you on this board have seen the proudly erect man in the camel on the Camel cigarette packs.
Well, I bought a shower curtain that has marble-vein-like designs in the margin. And right at eye level there is a design that is distinctly the following scene: WARNING: graphic image will now be described. It is a pony-tailed girl on her knees with her hands on a chair. Behind her is a man wearing a devil mask complete with horns, goatee, and demonic eyes. The devil man is behind the girl holding her ankles at his sides. It is clear that he is preparing to enter the tender young innocent from behind.
The blatant design is like a curse to me. There are other designs on the curtain which can also, with very little imaginative effort, be seen as splayed legs and ejaculating penises. It is a virtual orgy of inkblots!
I go to my shower with every intention of remaining chaste. But when such scenes are staring me in the face it makes it very difficult.
Check your product for insidious designs. The subliminal messages can affect your behavior. As for myself, I am taking up to five showers a day. I feel guilty, but I am very clean.
Has anybody else noticed any surreptitious graphic designing?
