My Samsung washer is rocking like crazy!

When it’s spinning, it’s rocking back and forth. Is there something I can do with the feet to keep it from rocking?

Recent thread FWIW.

Not too long ago we bought a washer that did that in the first few days. The repair guys came out and glued the washer’s feet to the floor. To keep it from dancing and thumping around the laundry.

When I got home I and learned of this I called and told them to get back here and remove the gluing devices, and if one single tile broke or was discolored, they would install a complete new floor. And take back the washer and drier and return my old one.

All of a sudden, don’t you know, they learned of a problem the manufacturer was having with an internal damper, but since they couldn’t get that part, we were getting a brand new functioning machine.

And the floor tile turned out fine.

(Also, make sure the load is evenly distributed. I assume you already did that.)

Crank up the music and rock along with it!

The cat who sleeps on it is NOT happy!

Cats are adaptable, though not always happy about adapting. Regardless, the cat will find a new place, if it finds the washer unacceptable.

  1. Make sure the machine is level - front to back - side to side.
  2. While the washer is off, can you rock the machine by hand? If so, the feet are at different levels and need to be uniformly making contact with the floor. Adjust the legs and relevel if necessary.
  3. If the unit is on a pedestal, this tends to raise the center of gravity and could accentuate vibration. Other than steps 1 & 2, not much can be done unless the cause is the pedestal not tightly bolted to the washer.
  4. Is this doesn’t correct the problem and the machine is under warranty, give them a call. Their initial response may point to unbalanced/heavy loads as the culprit so let them know this occurs even with a water wash.

My previous front loader was on a pedestal with mild to severe rocking (depending upon the load) I could not correct. When it was time for a replacement, I opted to omit the pedestal and after completing steps 1 & 2 above, I have no vibrating issues.

My god that’s stupid.
