My school cut the study-abroad program to Spain because Spain supports terrorism.

That was Muad’Dib too? Oh well, his views are hardly much suprise here then. The OP of that thread was quite the most scummy and despicable thing I’ve seen on these boards. Pit or not, how that didn’t result in a banning I have no idea.

Which they had opposed. What’s not clear here?

What? Who is the second bully? Are you saying Iraqi insurgents carried out the Madrid bombings?

If I did, would that fit some secret gotcha you’re trying to make?

Left wing open-mindness, tolerance of opposing views and respet for freedom of speech strikes again.

Islamic terrorists are the second bully.

No, it would just be wrong, Bush barely won, the polls were correct.

They’re still hunting islamic terrorists in Afghanistan.

Err, no, they were the first bully. The one Spain are still engaged in combatting in Afghanistan. Iraq was nothing to do with Islamic terrorism, the weak efforts of the US administration to link Saddam to Al Qaeda notwithstanding.

Open-mindedness and free speech my arse. I have never defended the ‘right’ of anyone to speech that is racist and hateful as your was in that example. Views so outrageously offensive and extreme deserve no tolerance. If you’d posted a similar thing about an event in America, you’d have been banned in an instant, imo.

And the Spanish party won by four points when some polls showed them slightly ahead.

How the on Earth is what I said racist?! Hateful? No. Extremely pissed off and disapointed? Yes.

The Pit is the place for angry rantings. You have been here for two years and havn’t figured that out yet?

And i’m sure they’d be happy to escape having an unreflective, simplistic, self-important asshole like you in their country.

So your decision works out best for everyone.

Nope – it was Ejea. (“Ejea de los Caballeros”). Is that close to you?

I went with a program called Spanish Heritage (or Herencia Espanol). Big group flew over to Madrid, had a tour of that city and stayed in a hotel overnight. Next day they shipped us off to our respective host families all over the country. Mine was a 3 hour train ride to Zaragoza, where family picked me up, then a car trip (about an hour I think) to Ejea.

The father was a history teacher, and I ended up seeing lots of old castle ruins (several car trips), as well as El Pilar in Zaragoza (got a picture from one of the high towers, overlooking the Ebro). And other fun stuff.
