My secret shame

There is a Take That song in my MP3 collection.

[cringe!] So do I.

Note: Thanks also to 'Toons for augmenting jjimm’s info with detailed explanations of hyperlinking.

I couldn’t stand the movie Fargo. I just thought it really sucked. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it didn’t.

I also have never seen any of the Godfather or Rocky movies.

I actually like the first three songs on my kids Bob the Builder CD.

I’ll hide one bit of goody/snack from my family, so that there will be some left when I get home from work.

I’ve seen Star Wars more than 150 times.

Don’t tell Mr. Beckwall, please.

And I still don’t understand how to make a link and call it what I want.

I watched a three-hour marathon of “High School Reunion” last night and was disappointed when the news came on at 10 p.m.
And as if that’s not bad enough, I really liked it and now I’m trying to figure out if I should tape High School Reunion or Alias on Sunday nights.

I get breakfast from McDonald’s once per week, and sometimes twice. Ok, it’s out there now, I feel better.

Not only do I like Justin Timberlake’s new song, Cry me a River, but I also listen to Britney Spears (everyone that knows me refuses to believe this), and regularly jam out in my car to all the top 40 hits, including the rappy and R&B ones, and the dance pop tunes, and I like Eminem. I got caught bopping around to Shakira one time by a truckload of immigrant-type workers that I didn’t notice a couple lanes over.

Sometimes I like to try to dance like they do on MTV.

I found Malcom McDowell insanely sexy in A Clockwork Orange. I also lust for Gene Wilder from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Frodo from LotR (you can forget the elf-boy, blargh). I wanted Tolouse from Moulin Rouge until I found out John Leguizano (sp?) is not actually 4 feet tall. There is a picture I drew of a video game character that I’m desperately infatuated with hanging over my headboard.

I don’t like Justin Timberlake, Barry Manilow, A-ha, or Wham.

But I do like ABBA, the Monkees, and Neil Diamond. Further I own the 4-CD The Disco Box from Rhino Records ( as well as their the Nuggets and 70’s Soul collections, which unlike the disco collection, I don’t try to hide under a pile of papers when they’re in my car  ) and this very evening was listening to “Dancing Machine” by the Jackson 5 on the way to work. However I also listed to “Loveless Love” by the more respectably hip The Feelies, which helped to counteract the furtive sense of shame :p.

Tis ok I forgive you, I own it too. And I still sometimes listen to it.

I on the other had own a PS1, not that bad, but I still play PGA Tour 98 on it. That’s about the only thing I do play.

I have to have my daily dose of Neighbours, and I enjoy the storylines.
I like the S Club Juniors.
I also do neopets.
YMCA is the only song that gets me dancing.
and… I quit university because I was too shy and homesick.
sigh

I am actually pleased that I am top of this page of posts.

I have a harmless, unexplained, creepy-but-in-no-way-pedophilic-crush on Amanda from the Amanda show.

I am addicted to the E!True Hollywood Story

I like “The Gilmore Girls”

I also like “Sabrina”

I deplore Will and Grace - [sub]see, I’m gay, so that means I’m supposed to think Will and Grace if faaaaaaaaabulous[/sub]

I have a huge collection of 70’s disco on cd. I love to sing along with them. I do it at home and in my car. Other people have even seen me do this.

I watch “The Powerpuff Girls” everyday.

I’m a bad naughty little thread-bumper.

The reason I searched for this to bump it with my M&P admission of shame is as follows:

When this thread was started I was feeling exceptionally self-assured in my tastes (read: up myself). I thought “Well, if I like it, it’s because I like it and I can’t possibly have doubts or feel shame about anything I like.”

But right now, I’m listening to Tarkan’s album. Yes, Tarkan, Turkish prince of pop, the one who did the original Kiss Kiss song. And yes, it does dent my avant-rock cred.

I’ve loved Tarkan for a long time. He’s so camp, but I can’t stop listening.

I can’t stop myself from dancing whenever I hear the theme to Steptoe and Son.

I have the theme song to Sesame Street on my mp3 list.

Heh. Tarkan rules. I first heard him being played bya cute goth girl working behind the counter of a head shop - I figure that absolves me of being unhip for listening to the Turkish equivalent of Justin Timberlake :D.

Everyday in college I watched “Jem and the Holigrams” cartoons…

Never say that a college education is wasted!
